Who is your favourite all time Actor and Actress?


Sir Anthony Hopkins is my favourite Actor - especially in the Hanibal films and Remains of the Day.

Dame Judy Dench - fantastic actress and was in some really funny sitcoms like A Fine Romance. I loved her in the film Mrs Brown and the James Bond films

I must say Edward Norton has done some fine work.

I have so many! but the first favourite to spring to mind has to be - Nicolas Cage

Does it have to be a film actor? If not, then I choose David Hyde Pierce, who plays Niles in Frasier. He's so funny, his comic timing is impeccable,

Favourite actress - I don't know, I'll have a think

At the moment it's John Simm and, er, hmmmm.

Male Actor of the past would be toss-up between Jack Lemmon and Water Matthau.

Female Actress of that time would be Shirley MacCaine.

Modern era, Bill Pullman and either Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, but probably for sheer versatilty, Cate Blanchett.

All time, old time favourites would be James Cagney and Bette Davis.

More recent...Al Pacino and I can't think of an actress.

Anthony Hopkins and Dame Judi Dench.

I'd say my personal favourites would be Christian Bale and Kirsten Dunst (I saw her in the good stuff before early 2000s teeny trash). However, the _greatest_ are really Al Pacino and Judi Dench.

Hard to pick just one of each...

Actor: three-way tie between Max Von Sydow, Harry Dean Stanton and Donald Pleasance.

Actress: two-way tie between Liv Ullman and Shelley Winters.

I have hugged Max von Sydov.

I gave him a medal too! For a minute role in a student 'Spex' called Canute the Great...

How cool! I hope he was very gracious. And I'm still insanely jealous.

The only actor I've ever met in person was Ron Jeremy.

I met Stephen Fry once, at a very auspicious occasion...

Well..I've met Paul McGann, Colin Baker, Daphnie Ashbrook, Katiee Sacoff, and..Simon Pegg!

Al Pacino is overrated, he has played the same role for the last twenty years. Whereas a guy like DeNiro might be in some bad movies at times, but at least he has the guts to try different parts.
