Rentaghost might have been good programming but it gave me nightmares.
I used to avoid it at all costs. (Mr Claypole... )

Yes, Rentaghost always gave me nightmares, as well.

Did Capt Pugwash have smutty inuendos? Good grief, I miised those entirely
When I was very small there was only an hour's worth of kids tv a day, so there weren't that many programmes to watch.
So no one else remembers Twizzle? He was only a puppet but terrified me when I was about 6 years old.

Pugwash was very smutty - especially around Cabin Boy Jim!!

A belated reply... but yes, the telebugs sounds vaguely familiar...
In amongst all these 'I can't believe you haven't mentioned...'s (although some haven't read the backlog properly - like me!)
I can't believe you haven't mentioned Eighty days around the world/we'll find a pot of gold/just sitting at the rainbow's ending time/we'll fight against the times/and you'll fly on the white wings of the wind obviously had the beatles for lyricists, unless I misheard most of it which is very likely
