I'm always seeing things that I'm not supposed to mention.

I have a terrible habit of looking at strangers (in the car next to mine or in a crowd someplace) just as they are picking their nose or spitting. Yuck!

Will you be mentioning them here TR?

Accidentally catching nose pickers! What strange thingee to have a timing nack forGee, I am sorry for you!

I too see lots of things that others dont ( - keeping quiet about it )

But things like hair in the plughole, the full bin etc I would think it was a ploy to not have to empty or clean it but I swear they really really dont even notice

Thank Heaven i live alone now so only have myself to argue about it with!...

I seem to detect scents earlier than others notice. Sometimes noises.

I smell all sorts of things other people claim not to. Like dust, for example.

People watching can be quite funny. I like watching people work -their expressions change so much and you can almost read their mind by their facial expressions. But...if they catch you looking then I'm paranoid about them thinking I'm in love with them or something.

I'm quite quick at judging people's characters. I seem to know what they are like from very early on and I am usually proved right. It's a bit of a bind really because it shows up in the way I treat them if I don't trust them. I wish I could be like others and see the best in people until proven otherwise!

Spelling and grammar errors on notices in public places - especially on huge commercial posters. I'm thinking seriously of carrying a big red pen at all times.

Ditto, WS. It drives me mad.

I also always notice the most minute continuity errors in films and TV programmes.

Errors in other poeples' powerpoint presentation slides, even when mine are usually riddled with them

Nuances in intonation contours that tell what people really mean, even if they don't seem to think so themselves.
"It's not what you said it's the way you said it."
"What?"

And , you'd soon run out red pens if the amount of English errors up here are anything to go by...

That's a good one, Abi. I do myself, sometimes.

I have to say I find it endlessly fascinating.

I remember walking through Soho with a friend and pointing to a large building. "That used to be a hat factory" quoth i. "How do you know that?" said my friend. "Because at first floor level it says 'So and so's Hat Factory' in the brick work."

I notice every continuity error in films and tv as well. I also notice smells before other people do. And if you're speaking to me face to face it is virtually impossible to lie to me - I can read faces and body language like a lie detector.

On a note slightly related to smelling things beofer other people do, I used to sleep with my mobile phone on the bedside table right next to me. If I received a text message, I would always wake up about five seconds before the message beeped in my phone.
