Yes, I am paying for the Professional assessment. But it's through a respected and known company that I researched thoroughly.

My assortment of poetry seems to be growing, but still not enough for the slimmest of slim volumes.
I write more project documentation than anyone would ever want to see.

trying to write a supernatural thriller. Ok then, horror!
Unfortunately real life is playing havoc but I'll be back on track soon! The Writers' Group is a real help...

Let's see supernatural vs. horror
Depend upon whether the hero gets the girl, builds the girl, get's killed by the girl, looses the girl or imagines the girl!
Of course, one or more of these may be venturing into the realm of fantasy...

hmmm, still thinking on that one.
The Writers' Group, if I may be so bold as to plug it since you ask, is to be found at A792632....
Thinking more, I think the hero gets the girl. I think its something else that gets them.

Thank you!
No, it doesn't put you to shame - our stories are just completely different
Now, didn't I see an entry on overcoming writer's block somewhere? After the difficulties I had with the latest episode I think I might need it...

I've just finished writing a Press Release on agricultural price statistics in the EU for the first quarter of 2002. Any takers? No? Great cure for insomnia....

Titania, basically "Writer's Block" is regarded as a luxury by those who sit down to write on a daily basis.
If you fix a page rate, regardless of whether it is usable,
then you just sit down and write at the same time every day.
When I was in typing class, back in the day when the machines were steam powered and typed in pencil, our teacher, Miss Harre, called this "Free typing".
She said it didn't matter what we typed, as long as we were exercising the mind to finger interface.
In fact, she suggested that we even dispense with spacing and punctuation and Capitalization in our effort to just learn to connect with the act.
I wrote some of my first free-form fantasy sic-fic in that class.
And I got a good grade on my page coverage!
To this day, I can sit down any time and cover a page.
Most of it is dreck, but, hey! it's easier to edit trash than it is to stare at a blank page for two days in a row!

I like to think that I'm writing an SF book, but I've been doing it for about three years and I'm just a bit short of page5...
I have quite a firm idea about the plot, though, even though the ending is still a mystery to me. Is it manageable to start writing when you don't know how it's going to finish?

Hi, Lenny, thanks for the link.
I've been having a bit of a problem with Yahoo for the past year since I first got this computer: They think they know what they're doing and I know that I don't.
I might try again later.

Hi, Bob.
It has been my experience that the vast majority of writers plow ahead without knowing much of anything!
It is permissable, as long as you don't show it to anyone who lives with you, to start anywhere in the story and work your way out or away.
Of course, if you do show it to anyone, it is nice if there is some form of structure.
