There been light to moderate since 11:00 and it's falling now.
Emmily I thought yesterday was Wednesday, I get those days when I lose a day.
It's been a while since I have looked around the shops and a lot of have gone, the costcutter shop near the post office will be closing down. A lot of my favourite shops have gone, and there was a place where you could buy chocolate covered popcorn but that's gone and the last time I saw it was over two years ago.

Had some light snow on top of ice yesterday afternoon which made things a bit crazy going home from work
Today we have had another fine layer of snow plus it's rather blustery and we heard thunder earlier!

There been moderate from 12:00 to 14:00 and it cleared up a bit, but the sky looks light slatey grey, so there could be more snow showers later on. The temperature is now 0°C but feels more like with the chill wind factor -3°C. Tomorrow night it is going to down to -7 °C.
The are starting to run again after two hours of no service.

Its well below freezing here.. don't have a themometer so don't actually know. No wind.. snow in the garden has a kind of icy crust formed on top. If you break through it you get to the powdery stuff below..a bit like snow toast
Very beautiful

Hello from London. It's Sunday afternoon the 19th at 13.11. It's grey and overcast right now. It was snowing pretty heavily yesterday and there's now about 8 inches or so on the ground outside. It's still very cold. The current temperature is hovering around zero celsius.

Is Heathrow opened yet? I'm rather concerned about a party supposedly going "home" for Xmas.
Currently out my window the temp is 30F, and the weather is... confused.

You've got no change with much of the UK at the moment. I'm quite impressed with the 'light dustings' in Essex.
In Oxfordshire they had 20 inches of snow in 3 hours yesterday. We had 18 inches in Cardiff in 24 hours.
Heathrow is, to put it mildly, screwed. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/8212994/Christmas-travel-plans-ruined-for-half-a-million-air-passengers.html

South Essex, England.
We had about 2ins of snow over the weekend.
I cleared snow and ice from the car 3 times.
Was not driving but run the engine for 10 mins each day

We have melted snow which is now frozen with snow on top it's just deadly, we can't put grit or salt down on our drive because of the dog.
Hope it warms up soon I have to get to London.

What's nice about having a wood/coal furnace is that you have plenty of slag that's great for traction and easy on animals. Haven't had that luxury since 1987.

We had some more snowfall last night, which was surprising as it was below freezing all evening?

Didn't realize Heathrow had a twitter account. Also a nice list of other airports to follow. http://twitter.com/HeathrowAirport

Ha! Just taken a look at that, and all it seems able to say is "check with your airline". Exactly how much use is that?

>"check with your airline".<
It's probably about as useful as National Express giving out their phone number at the weekend so we could check if their coaches were running.
The 'This call will cost you 10p a minute' message lasts approximately a minute and then you go through any number of menus (doesn't actually matter which one you choose it seems) to get to the same *ring ring* for 29 minutes followed by a long beep as they cut you off without ever having talked to anyone.
Why don't they just admit that their phone lines can't possibly cope with 100,000 people phoning all at once. They'd certainly get more respect from me.
