Hello from London on Friday morning the 3rd at 10.30am
It's a grey, overcast sort of day, though looking like it might clear up a bit as the day goes on. Still lots of snow lying around and lots of my work colleagues not making it into the office because of snow in the burbs, especially Kent. IT's chilly as. The current temperature is around 0c. No breeze.

Lanzarote midday No sunshine today.
20 °C Overcast, 19 km/hour light breeze from ENE ( which is actually quite chilly cos I think it's blowing from all that snow and ice )
Night time low of 16°C forecast. This is as cool as it's going to get here for the winter.

Cambridge, UK, cold, really cold, no more snow though as for some reason it seems to be falling all around us on every side, but just not here... which is good just wish it was a bit warmer

Friday, 7:38am PST, Coachella Valley, CA, 13C/50F, sky overcast, no wind.
Chilly enough to make one want a sweater indoors, but down right pleasant after an unusually protracted summer with daytime highs consistently in the 43C/110F - 49C/120F range, with night time temperatures never dropping below 35C/90F.

I'm getting to really like this cold snap. It's dry and crystalline. The wrong kind of snow
Getting about now is not a problem. All the main roads are clear and my road and other side roads are just packed down ice, which you drive on very very slowly, I'm getting used. Buses and trains are working fine now. I always wear my old motorbike boots now for walking, which have a very thick tread..so I don't slip. I have my Russian fur hat which is very cosy.
Yep providing the infrastructure can cope, I really like it. The air is clear and bracing. And I put out a ton of food for the birds every morning.
I think its about minus 4 C outside now.

I think DDay was on June 6, 1944. It was the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that took place on December 7, 1941.

the snow is melting nicely
I don't recall the hazy sunshine The Thinker mentioned, but then I didn't get up until late, so maybe I missed seeing that.
Not as cold as it has been last few nights.

Variable cloud covering with a good amount of sunshine, and still very slippery on the paths and the roads.
Emmily, I saw it mostly when I was in the going to see my mum in Corringham.
The temperature now is 1°C, but feels a lot colder than the sun has gone down and feels more like -3°C.

Uhm... DDay _is_ the day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
And it's horizontally snowing -- again. Thirty degrees, currently.

By our thermometer the current temperature outside is -1C
Kat, I did get to see the sunshine today and I agree, pavements are very slippery and some side roads still bad.
That's a coincidence, my (late) mum used to live in Corringham too.
At least we got our wheelie bins emptied before the snow came last week, and the council "will endeavour to resume the service on Monday 6 December" I'll be very surprised if they do.

Not in this neck of the woods. In fact, I can't find *any* neck of the woods where D-Day is used as a reference to the attack of Pearl Harbor, (AKA Hawaii Operation, Operation Z, the Battle of Pearl Harbor).
However, US hootizens are always willing to be enlightened, so in true h2g2 tradition...
Have you got a link for that?
Oh, and Wellington, NZ, 6 December: Sunny with some cloud, 18C. Expecting showers later.

D'Day was the day the allied invasion at Normandy commenced, originally planned for June 5, 1944, postponed on account of weather to June 6, 1944.
