I have to agree with Feisor. Especially sung by Maria Callas - but any time it's well sung and well performed. Australian Opera did it for me recently. It's a shame it comes so early in the opera.

The one time I can remember songs making me cry was on the way back from a week long stay at hospital after having my baby. It had been pretty traumatic and I guess the baby blues were settling in too, so there I was in the back seat sniffling away to "Imagine" and "What a Wonderful World" on the radio.

'Every Time We Say Goodbye'. Doesn't matter who's singing it, this is an almost indestructibe song, so powerful and moving.

Oh yes Lady - when Freddie says "I still love you" - I go

Chaka Demus and Pliers "Tease Me" can still make me cry... and shout and gnash and swear out loud angrily

I don't cry at songs. Used to cry at Peter and the Wolf when I was little, but that was out of fear.
Actually, there are two songs that make me swallow a bit harder, but no one here would have ever heard of them.

Ah, Chaka Demus and Pliers. Where are they when no-one needs them?!

I weep like a **** when listening to La Routeneille by Sebastian Tellier, so beautiful.
And Heartbeats by Jose Gonzalez. Bliss. It's just been re-released because its on that advert with the bouncing balls in San Fransisco.

Now you're gone by whitesnake and that one by aerosmith from the film armeggadon? goes I don't want to close my eyes cos i don't want to miss a thing...both reduce me to tears because they bring back memories....some heartbreaks still hurt a long time down the road...

Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton gives me a lump in my throat. I saw an advert once about multiple sclerosis which was rather sad, and it reminds me of that one.

"Fly" by Celine Dion

"You'll Never Walk Alone" gets me every time, whether it's Gerry Marsden or a football crowd.

"Abide With Me" - sung by a choir, or an opera singer.

Today I've seen a new advert for "Honda" and the man driving all the different things is miming to Andy Williams' "To Reach the Unreachable Star" (can't recall the title) it made me gulp, because it made me think of my Dad and his battle with cancer, and he always drove Honda cars.

I've got two songs that i used to listen to as a young boy that were guaranteed to make me cry.

Old Tige by Jim Reeves and Teddy Bear by Red Sovine.

Now i can rationalise these songs and realise that they deliberately play on sentiment, and not anything special in the lyric or tune department. However, when i hear them now, i'm transported back 35 years and i still cry.
