h2g2 vegetarian society. I dunno though, I'd probably go back to being a pescetarian - so I don't know if they'll let me in

DrG: Pescetarian? Is this part of the hierarchy of the holier than thou pecking order of vegetarianism? I wonder how many have been broken by the carnivores ultimate weapon - The Bacon Sarnie (I know I was )

For some reason, the use of the words 'vegetarian', and 'pecking order' conjured up the image of a big pile of grain...

Pescetarianism isn't really vegetarian. It's vegetarianism with added fish . So I'm probably quite low on the pecking order.

Now don't be confusing the peckin order with the food chain.
Whole different kettle o' feed grains that one.
One you introduce living critters to the menu, it's a food chain.
As a person (I assume you're human) you come out on top. Every time.

Some of these radical veggie-table types won't eat anything that casts a shadow.
But a nice fry up, mm-mm, that's good eating.

I think Baby Rabbits are called babbits

Just like to say that I have met Mina's rabbits, they are very cute and induced in me a completely soppy, gooey moment. All I could do was babble 'bunny'. Sad isn't it, but it made me happy! And no I could never eat bunnies or ducks, purely cause they are too nice. And yes I am having problems with piggies and other things. Even had a moment with a tuna fillet not so long ago, where I could identify with it and feel it swimming.

Or am I just a complete looney?

Could it be that young rabbits are called kittens and,
by extension, old kittens are called 'Rabbit'?

A friend of mine, a science teacher, related this story last night in the pub. His class of 11-year olds are growing broad beans. They asked him what he was going to do with them. He explained that he is going to keep the plants on the window sill, water and feed them carefully until pods grow with beans inside.









Then he is going to eat their babies.

They are called kittens, indeed... and baby guinea pigs (male= boar, female= sow) are called puppies.
