Dog House Boogie - Seasick Steve
He blew away everyone else on Jool's Hootenanny I thought and this track is why. Down, dirty blues, just what you want or need sometime

I'm listening to the sounds of my stomach getting over my food poisoning from last night and the sounds of keys being pushed down, down, down, into the keyboard as I type this.

Thanks to the shuffle thingy I'm currently listening to:
Rush - 'Limelight' (live)
Before that I had a lovely little run of Neil Young, Jane's Addiction, Orbital, The Beastie Boys and Pulp. The Bee Gees threw a bit of a spanner in the works.

I missed him recently - I think he played the 100 Club or somewhere in London a month or so back - whta's he like? HI wants to go see him (based purely on his name. I said "How stupid is that?...no, wait...I went to see Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. for exactly the same reason!" )
Anyway, the more I hear about him, the more I want to hear him.
Currently playing "Goodbye Is Forever" - Arcadia.

'Wounded Bird' is Charles & Eddie. It is a good soundtrack; 'You're So Cool' is genius. Hmmm, may have to put that on when,
Beatles> 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away' has finished.

The film "Tommy" by the Who.
I am no Who fan but the film does quite sum up that time period around the whole music/drugs thing. Some films from that time can come across as pretentious or frankly crap, but if you were to watch just one music film from that time then I suppose Tommy would be a good choice, some quite nifty songs too, surprising just how many are well known too. The film is a little disturbing in places though when you think the lead character is deaf, blind and can't speak.
Although not certain, In think I saw another Who film that was actually quite poor, fortunately Tommy avoids that and has become a classic music film really.

Seasick Steve, he's a top notch old school hobo bluesman. Big beard, dungarees and old baseball cap. Playing a guitar with only three strings, stomping on an old box for percussion.
Check him out on youtube.
How was GetCapeWearCapeFly? And What's Gogol Bordello like as they're headlining a festival I'll be at later on in the summer?

Gogol Bordello are a bunch of Ukrainian Immigrants to New York who play "Gypsy Punk" - think of The Clash with swearing and Accordions.
