I'm fed up of hearing about the malaise the site seems to be in; I'd rather try to do something about it. I think we might lose the site due to a lack of Entries on the Front Page - so I'm trying to get everyone, from those who have never been in PR before through those who are still contributing daily, to those who are very much lapsed, to get involved agin. It is critical; all of you need to be involved if you still care about and use the site, from the oldest to the newest. Please have a read at least - and if you sign up, follow it through.

This site is absolutely unique. Please don't let us lose it. We need all of you, right now.

Good luck with this Rich - I can't make the commitment you ask for, but I will dust off the old chisel and get carving an entry.

Much as I'd love to, I can't write one (or more) guide entries every fortnight, sorry. Is Fizzy subscribed to this? She's your woman (as is GB). smiley - smiley

I really can't write an Entry a fortnight, but I can certainly increase my current rate of one a year.

I've been meaning to write another for the SWCP, between Helford and Falmouth, but since I moved back up north, I've kinda forgotten. Plus I've been meaning to write one on Merseyside and get myself a t-shirt.

I can definately spend much more time in PR though.

I certainly can't give that committment just now, health issues on too much of a roller coaster to start with. I am still commenting in PR and will at some stage get back to writing but at the moment it's just not feasible.
It would also help to get more reviewing if writers don't take comments made by reviewers the wrong way and "throw a wobbly" at the review process or the reviewer. Afterall, review comments are only suggestions and opinions, not orders or instructions, in other words stop shooting the bloody messenger!.

I can commit, but I'll have to be slow about it at some times and catch up when I can. I've got quite a few ideas for entries, though.

Get thee to Challenge h2g2 or the Flea Market! Alternatively, I've just linked to and entry on cats that really needs a rewrite. A53452

I would like to touch up that entry - I like my cat at home and it's a nice connection! Thanks for the tip!

Oh gawd, feeling guilty now. So freakin' busy, I have ideas but no time to work on them.

I will address my Britney entry and write one on the two-dollar bill... really soon.

Would any of you sign up if there was an option to do one a month instead of one a fortnight?

'Rich, I would quite happily write an entry a month if I had enough passion about enough subjects that aren't already covered that I could get an interesting angle on to justify it. There seem to be some here that can write an interesting, personal, amusing entry about pretty much anything. I'm not one of 'em.

I worry that a push to get more entries could lead to a reduction in the spark that makes an h2g2 entry special.

I agree. That's almost my biggest concern. If it was that or the site, though, I'd be prepared to take that chance - as it is, we're going down the pan.

The idea is to encourage people to do as much as they can. I think most people would admit they could do much more for the EG than they do at the moment.

Post 19

I certainly could. Finishing off the ones I've started would probably be a good idea! But I think I need to bash out a quick quirky one to get the blood going first.

Yep, that's mine in PR. smiley - biggrin

smiley - sigh My problem is with the commitment part. Once I say I'll do something I'll try to do it, and at this point I have zero idea what life will be like in two months. At this point, I'm doing a lousy job as a Scout and a Sub. Not sure I want to add another commitment to neglect and feel guilty about.

That said, if you complain periodically, I'll probably manage to squeeze something out.
