well, I had to give up scouting as I'm pressed for time
and unfortunately, while I could probably bash out two entries per month, I don't have the time to get them through PR
I'll think about the flea market

I might be able to commit to one a month, if I was given inspiration occasionally. I've got a few ideas in mind of stuff I could do.
Similar to what Sho said, I find I can write an Entry relatively quickly, but getting it through PR is really time-consuming.
I've never had a bad experience in PR, as I know some have, but it does take quite a long time even when the entry is more or less EG-ready, which is quite frustrating.

frustrating isn't the word (although I've never had a particularly hard or long time in PR )
however, I am involved slightly in an entry in PR now. And I can see that one thing is going to hold it up and back. And I'm going to get annoyed. So I'm staying out for a while. Then I'll come back again

should we invent a badge for supporting this crusade?

There's the h2g2 researcher badge on the Apage.

So I see.
I know that one entry a month should be possible, even for me, but when I look at how long the last one I started has been languishing in my folder now, unfinished, and knowing that I'm not sure I'll ever finish it, I'm not sure I'd meet the required criteria.

That's a word, Rich. I think the very first thing I read was your reply to MMF, so that put me off the idea, to be honest.

There's been a lot of discussion since then; I'm one for listening to ideas rather than forcing my own on people. But it's up to you

I guess that means I should try to finish my entry instead of trying to get one of my friends to do it for me.

I signed up to As and When too. Sometimes I'll be able to get a lot done, at others, not so many. I have a lot of ideas at the moment but it might take a while to get them done as my term is very busy. It's probably better to spread them out anyway, for when this push inevitably slackens a bit.

That's the idea of getting people to sign up for a specific number, so that in six months' time we'll still be covering x Entries on the Front Page through the group
You're all added - thank you!

You know, Rich, this reminds me of haggling: starting out high and get all you can get, then accepting lower offeres - and we all win.

If only I was that clever, Bel
The main complaint people have had has been the expectation of writing Entries regularly. Even though it's key, everyone has their reasons, and I'm not going to argue with them. The reviewing and commenting are just as important, and if people are prepared to sign up to more reviewing and subscribing to EGWW to encourage new writers; well, that's something they perhaps wouldn't otherwise be doing. So why not have a sort of membership level for that as well?

You're right about that. And btw, just because I didn't specify the numbers of entries per month I'll write doesn't mean I'm not going to try.
Key: Complain about this post
