Peekaboo....
I get told I'm a punk, even if I look more new romantic-y (we're talking SERIOUS eyeliner) but I do adore punk music very muchly, and would love to join up...
At the moment, I'm trying to kickstart a FREAK society on h2g2 at A1132345 and if anyone here is interested, or if you would like the punk society to be in alliance with the FREAKs, that would be fab

Hi fellow punkers,
I was very into Punk 78/80, while at Manchester Poly, and was priviliged to knock around with the Buzzcocks, due to support-band the Immediates. Unfortunately I put my records in store up there hoping to return, only for the whole lot to go, no back-issues, and not on Vinyl now.
At least if I can't listen to the music, I can chat about it.
My claim to fame is Rat Scabies is a neighbour, although we haven't met for a while. Used to pop round for a cup of sugar, then drink my wine-cellar dry!!!!!!!
Does anyone have anything by Richard Hell and the Voidoids?

Can I be a member? Or is it too late? please?...............I love punk music, old and new stuff (Sex Pistols, The Damned. Anti-Flag, My Chemical Romance) so that would be great.

Hi there!
Many of the original members are no longer with us, but I'm game to chat with you about music any time, if you'd like to visit my Uspace at U194479. I'm into a lot of old punk and post-punk music and we'd likely have some favorites in common.
Drop by and say hello, if you like. I'll look forward to seeing you.

I wanna join, too.
I guess the old punks (like me) could be said to be geriatric by now. Spent most of my 20's and early 30's having a great time in one of the unsung punk capitals, Adelaide. It was a great scene, with great people many of who(m)?? are still good mates.
Faves: Joy Division. The Clash. The Pistols. Buzzcocks. The Saints. Radio Birdman. Johnathan Richman. Madness. Blondie. Robyn Hitchcock.
We used to watch The Young Ones and not laugh. It was too close to the truth (not really - we just identified with it more than somewhat).
I thought all the young people were into hiphop nowadays ...

You and I share some faves, St Francesca. Click on my name and pop by my space if you'd like to chat about music.
Many of the other regulars of this lovely group have gone off to school or had work and other "real life" stuff pull them away from here. But I'm still around and happy to talk music any time you like!!

Nope. There are still some of us who like proper punk! I hate hip hop and rap...
And I also love talking about music as psycocandy knows

Yeah, Radio Birdman and the Saints are well worth listening to. You can hear their sound in a lot of newer bands.

Radio Birdman are one of my favorite bands, as mentioned on my Uspace. I've got quite a bit of good old garage/punk stuff from Oz- Someloves, Died Pretty, M-16s, Angie Pepper, New Christs, Lime Spiders. And New Race, thanks to Superdogmonkey for sending me a copy of that so I can spend my cash on other stuff!
Hey, nice to see Rocket Man online again!! How the heck are ya??

Hey Psychocandy,
Sorry for being so rude and ignoring your question. I didn't mean to do it - I must have failed to notice it
I've now left home and am living with my girlfriend in a different city, which is cool. The music scene here is worse than back at home, which really sucks, but I have been trying hard to find some decent local bands.
How are you?

Hey there Rocket Man! No worries, I understood you were busy with school and stuff, and if you've moved as well, it's no wonder you missed my message.
Glad to hear you're doing well, sucky music scene notwithstanding. And congrats on the move!
I'm all right. Started a different job at the end of July. It's a contract job, not a permanent one, but it will last through the end of the year (helping with property tax returns, property management agreements, and other boring real estate related stuff). My boyfriend (sounds creepy saying that when you're over 30... have to think of a better word that isn't super-sappy) moved in around mid-May, finally, took the old roommate forever to get out. Other than that, it's been pretty tame.
Saw D.O.A. and the Effigies towards the end of last year, but since then I've only been to see my boyfriend's bands play. They're entertaining, though, so it's all good!
Nice hearing from you again!

I have actually got off my arse and made an album. Have a listen. I shout and play stupidly distorted guitar. Bye!
