The shirt numbers thread is over at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F104104?thread=246122 Being a bit of a pedant, but I need some order in my little world. Unfortunately it's a first come, first served basis as we stand. BBS ;-)

yes Friar the Gamecck epithet can be "unfortunate"- often see cars with front tags saying "I Cocks"?????
There's no tasteful interpretation.

Just come across the group,(sorry the game cock thread just led to that).
I'm Robin,new H2G2 member.I'm am a massive AFootball fan.
Played junior league here in the UK many moons ago.Like all Brits grew up with Mick Luckhurst and the Geoff Banks look alike on C4.
First memory was watching the Bears win the Superbowl.Unsurprisingly the Monsters of the Midway are still my team.Useful that as my Mum,2 sisters and brother all live out there, and have done for almost 15 years. At least I don't have to pay stupid prices for my merchandise.
I'm really sorry I missed the Yahoo fantasy league.I was in one last year and came 2nd.This year I'm in the same league, but half the lightweights from last year couldn't be bothered to play.
Just subscribed to NASN for the college games & will be renewing my SKY sports membership in time for the NFL season very soon.
Reply from SKY.

HIya, Robin. Good to have you on board.
I've seen the Sky Sports Schedule for the NFL season, and they'll show one of the opening games on the Thursday and then double headers on the Sundays all through September and October.
They won't show the MNF os Sunday Night games, though, as I'm fairly positive that Channel Fves got the rights for those.
Five usually broadcasts the MNF games on tape delay on Tuesday night and once the Baseball games are over, they'll broadcast the Sunday Night games live. That's what they've done tha last couple of years anyways. So you'll get the Bears-Packers game on Five instead of on Sky.
I think that the Sky Schedule is up on their home page.

Greetings NFL fans. Newbie in the house.
I am proud to declare myself as a 49ers fan and have been since Channel 4 started the whole thing off. Having lived through the glory days of Joe Montana and Steve Young and had a good laugh at Mooch's stewardship, now frowning hard at the Erickson era.
One day it'll all come right .
Is it me or is every season since free agency and the salary cap a voyage of discovery?

Welcome ... each and every new season is indeed a voyage or discovery. The NFL call that parity. I call it mediocrity.

Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like Posted Feb 18, 2004
Not sure i agree with that. Since the introduction of the slary cap, the quality of super-bowls has risen dramatically.
Man, I was getting bored of those one sided blow-outs in the late 80's-early 90's.

I'm a 25 year-old Geotechnical Engineer, currently living in Leicester...
I've been a NFL fan since I was about 10, and followed the Packers initially because I liked the colour scheme... just as well it wasn't a few years later when I was in my goth phase (oakland? aaggrrhh!!)

Just relaised I have not posted to this thread before just now.
I guess most of you guys know me.
I'm DD 35 next Sunday. Have been watching Am Football since it first appeared on channel 4. Support Dallas through the think and now the incredibly long lean spell. Have also contributed two entries to hootoo One on my dearly loved and departed London Monarchs A320316 and the other on Ettiquette for American Football Supporters A724187
I am engaged to Fashion Cat. Who is trying to learn about Am Football.

Ku'Reshtin (Bring the beat back!) Posted Sep 14, 2004
DD, you keep saying that FC wants to learn to watch Am Footy, but you still haven't brought her to a Claymores game? Bad form.
And if the rumours are true, this upcoming season might be the last season for the Claymores. So there's a possibility that there's only five more opportunities to bring her to a live professional football game within the UK. Better hurry.
Key: Complain about this post
