Wildman - I'm not really mad, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years! Posted Apr 28, 2003
Feels good to be here - but I think I'd better keep my fat mouth shut until I (hopefully) get back up to speed, I've already filled it with enough to keep me digesting 'til the new season starts!
But that's what us Hogs are for, I suppose

Hey Wildman,
I'm an Eagles fan, so if you ever want to fight it out, I pop in from time to time as well.

BBS - If you had ever had them in the back of your taxi you wouldn't think so, I had to get an interpreter!
Incidently, the taxi is licensed for 5 passengers - I managed 3 DB's and a tiny cheerleader, and I'm not sure the front wheels were on the ground half the time!
And as for RE-1, surely you should know that us Hogs are far too polite to cause any commotion here

Hey Wildman, glad to have you.
I've mentioned elsewhere that, although my primary affiliation has always been with Miami, I actually followed the Redskins with vigor... until the era of Lord Voldemort (Dan Snyder's nickname by a certain writer on ESPN's Page 2).
Good luck to you, man. Teams can rebound shortly from bad talent, bad coaching, or bad GMing... but gods help you when you have a bad owner.

Hey Wildman! You're very welcome.
Have a !
There's a good mixed bunch of people here on Amfoot. If you haven't already checked out the Amfoot Forum page have a look for our current and older subjects & the Trivia page etc.
Don't worry about being a Skins fan, you can't help it!
(I am a Patriots fan myself and have had to put up with years of ribbing - until SB XXXVI !)

I remember when i went to Boston at christmas, when we arrived at logan airport, we were greeted by a huge banner saying "Welcome to new England, home of the world champion New England Patriots", and then, after the last day shenanigans (which i watched ina great sports bar full of Patriots fans) my Dad said to me "they'll be taking that banner down soon then..."

By Gods BW, I know what you mean! I think Lord Voldemort is too polite a name for my taste . But me, stubborn? NEVER!
And I have been checking out the other postings and Trivia (pity I was too late for the Jim thorpe question - I knew that! - might be the only question I'd ever have a chance with! ).
But if I ever did change, I've always had a soft spot for the Bengals - what does that say about me?

Hey everybody. . .
I'm Friar, a native of Chicago, and a born Bears fan. I'm 27, married to the lovely missus friar, and proud pappy to friar-spawn, a 6 month old girl (and yes, spawn IS a better boys name).
I spent four years away at Univeristy of Michigan in Ann Arbor, so I'm a Wolverines fan too, I even prefer college football.
Anyway, I just found this page and thread so I'll be busy for a while sifting through the backlog.

Welcome Friar.
As a UCLA fan to a Chicago Bears fan, allow me to make formal apologies for Cade McNown. He really was a good college QB. I don't understand how it happened.

... and as an alumnus of New Mexico State University (we just shipped someone off to the Raiders!), and a somtime student of our arch-rival University of New Mexico, let me just say that you Bears fans are welcome ... for Brian Urlacher, of course. I don't have much of a favorite in the NFL any more, but I still love the sport. Always good to see new people on the list!

And on behalf of the fans on the other side of the Atlantic, Welcome!!
It's always nice to hear from the colonies. (As a 'skins fan, I believe in getting my retaliation in first).
But seriously folks! When I saw your post elsewhere asking about American Football on hootoo, I thought you'd be here as soon as you could, so pull up a seat and here's a

Welcome Friar.
This is looking pretty good. We could have a fantasy league's worth of people by September. (Need 12). We're a little quiet currently, but it was all action-stations during the season - so it's highly likely it will be again in 2003.
I'm not too up on the Bears these days, but I'm sure I'll start finding out more about them now you're onsite. We'll get u a "how 'bout dem" thread setup. And away you go ...

We didn't. Like mention of the last SB it's virtually compulsory in any conversation about the Patriots.

Nope, I disagree. I thought Michael Pittman's running was wonderful and fully justified his position on the squad ahead of midget Dunne...

Well, at least the Patsies got back to the Superbowl, plus I was Ty Law's next door neighbor my freshman year at Michigan (quiet guy, very hip, but professional), so I like the Pats.
Re: Cade McNown. At least the #8 Jersery is getting used again (Rex Grossman wants it). Hopefully he'll have better luck. But I really didn't think Cade was a great pro prospect coming out if UCLA. His arm strength was always overrated, as was his accuracy and decision making. It's easy to say that NOW, but I watched the ESPN Classic of the Rose Bowl he played against Wisconsin (an lost) and he had 4 minutes left down by 4, it was 3 and 5 and he rolled right had a WR and TE open rolling the same way and he threw it in between them to basically wipe UCLAs chances of winning down the toilet. Sorry. . .still bitter. . .is it really obvious?
Key: Complain about this post
