h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

You know how a cheaper version of a game always becomes available some years after the initial release? Well, I found a re-released PC game recently that I think is pretty : Disciples Gold

It's turn-based, with lots of maps and four different races available. I've tried all four of them, and I've got to say the Legions of the Damned have the coolest city of them all, with worshippers moving in a circle performing some kind of a ceremony with flaming torches in their hands, gargoyles circling a tower, ghosts, bubbling lava...

Several quests and sagas, and I can see it'll take some time for me to get through all of them... And the background music keeps haunting me...

It's gonna be a while before I can try that.

While googling I discovere that there is a Disciples 2 - that'll be my next purchase I think...

I haven't seen that game before.

I am stuck on Prince of Persia SOT, due to lack of life and the twit won't do what I tell him I shall have to go back to an earlier save point (I hate those) and do a whole chunk again.

Either that or go back to Neverwinter Nights as No1 son has both expansion packs for it.

No2 son's life has been completely taken over by Star Wars; Galaxies much to the irritation of his g/f!

I got another copy of Shadows of Amn so I haven't been on h2g2 in the last 5 days...

Have you finished it yet? I finished it during a grueling three days during Christmas vacation, from eight am to four am every day.... although I didn't do all the side quests. Still, I thought that was a pretty good marathon. *is appalled at what a geek she's become*

Have you ever tried downlaoding mods?
There is a very awersome alternate ending to Throne of Bhaal. Much much better. It's called Ascension, and I got it http://www.weidu.org/ there. THey ahve a few other good ones too...

*Giggles in a manic way.* I've spent the last YEAR getting EVERY Mod for Baldurs Gate. I only finished a few days ago. There are a LOT of Mods. In order to save ~you~ time I'll give you some directions to the best and most comprehensive sites:

I got nearly every mod I could find, 'cept for a few.

Some of them are a bit buggy, though.

I know. I've had to trash about 100 or more of them sheerly for the sake of compatability.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get them all so fast?

Well I wouldn't say I got them all (I only got the ones I knew about... there are 100? I must have missed a lot. ) The oens I found are linked togetherby a few sites. Weidu.org I found, and several other sites.
I haven't even seen a lot of them work because I haven't played another games since I got them. I did do the very beginning and the very end, and a ways into the next few chapters...

I'm still sucked into Star Wars Galaxies, so haven't played any other games for a few months now. I reckon it still counts as RPG (well sort of) as we do role play in the game. I even attended a wedding on Naboo last weekend. It was beautiful *sigh*

Oh, there are way more than that. I still have 133 of them AFTER dumping the ones I can't/don't want to use. That's still not counting Custom Soundsets (dozens) and Custom Portraits (thousands, possibly tens of thousands). And this is just for Baldur's Gate 2, it's not including the original.

Speaking of BG2, I finally managed to get my hands on a new set of CDs after one of the old ones got so badly scratched that I couldn't play (that has never happened with any other game, so I'm not sure why it happened with this one) and I'm now playing Throne of Bhaal.

I'm a bit disappointed though that I didn't get to save the game in SoA after I had beaten Irenicus...

You're playing throne of bhaal? you really really shoudl get ascension (a mod)

If you're going to get Acsension you should get Redemption too.

That happened to my Baldur's Gate CD4. The problem was probably that it was cracked somewhere. Fortunately one of my friends gave me a copy of their's so I could keep playing.

You shouldn't have to. If ToB is already installed when you kick his trash then your Character, your Party, and your Equipment will all automatically be imported to ToB and it will start going. Otherwise you can still get your Character and your Character's Equipment with the Import feature by selecting "Saved Game" and choosing the latest one without "-TOB" on the end.

Also, my personal advice is to open your Override folder and delete the file named "clck26".

I think I got redemption but never got aroudn to playing it. it sounded pretty good, perhaps I should get around to trying it.

I didn't want to get all the extra characters. which there are a lot of out there.

what does clck26 do?
