They should make a toolset but with Baldur's Gate things... a lot of the objects are a lot more realistic. I mean, honestly, what does it take to get a fireplace with a cooking pot IN it? One would think these things would be easy.

Oh yeah, and I agree with you there--Horrid Wilting is excellent. I do love disintegrate though.

AK - fancy that!

Horrid Wilting definitely.

It's much better in SoA than in DnD, I think. more damage?

I think you're right but not sure offhand... have to ask me DM. I play a Cleric, and our wizard is too little to even know that spell yet... *grin*

Well wizards are only generally useful later on. However burning hands is nice.

Tell me, is the first book worth reading? Because I didn't like the SoA-ToB Books

What?

wait I think either we're talking about different books or you're not talking to me at all.

Yeah, the D&D books aren't really... bedtime reading, as such. P'raps you're thinking of those books they wrote as takeoffs of the games... never read those. Boilerplate B scifi, they look like.

the book forms of games... smiley - yuk. not too good.
I don't think a book form of any game can *possibly* be good.

Yeah them.

But don't automatically dismiss it. Pirates of the Carribean is based on a non-interactive ride after all, and 100% sure there's going to be a Baldur's Gate Movie sooner or later (though that doesn't mean it'll be good (unfortunately)).

Besides the other Forgotten Realms books are based on D&D, which is a game, so you've kind of defeated your own argument there.

If only the books from games were ever written by decent scifi writers rather than really minor, bad writers with nothing to lose. Then they might be readable. But otherwise they remind me of a sequel to a movie with different actors. Bleh.

I honestly can't remeber any sequels with different actors. The closest substitute I recall is Dr. Who, and that works really well.

How 'bout the sequel to "Grease" ? That was awful. Or the second and third "Neverending Story" movies. First one was fine, but they just got worse and worse, and having different stars didn't help.

Fortunate soul. Actually the horribleness (?) of the movies was not entirely the director's fault. I read the book and the second two thirds of it was horrible too.
