Be patient. It might be a while before someone posts to you, since real life sometimes gets in the way.

Hi i've been gaming for around 13-14 years now and am a MASSIVE fan of RPG's.

My very First RPG experience would have had to have been "Linus Spacehead" on the NES which was a unique hybrid of "Point & Click", "Platformer" and "RPG". My First true RPG though was "Dungeon Master" on the SNES and being a huge fan of the ITV after school show "Knightmare"(and "D&D" in general), you can imagine this game was heaven for me! I later moved onto other RPG's on the SNES(the console i still consider the best for quality RPG's). "Secret Of Mana", "The Legend Of Zelda:A ink To The Past", "Super Mario RPG", "Chronno Trigger", "Illusion Of Gaia", "Shadowrun", "Terranigma", "Final Fantasy III"(really "FF VI" but released as III in the USA) all became regulars on my system. Also on the NES i discovered classics like "Sweet Home"(Capcoms RPG precursor to their "Resident Evil" series) and "The Legend Of Zelda" games.

I also owned a Master System but to be honest that console never really had any noteworthy RPG's and the only One that springs to mind that i really enjoyed was the RPG-lite "Wonderboy III"

I never had a Megadrive but have enjoyed many great RPG's on that console including "Soliel", "Shining Force I and II", "Shining In The Darkness", "The Story Of Thor", "Sword Of Vermillion", "Shadowrun"(which differed from the SNES version but was just as great, if not more so in some departments).

Then came the Sega Saturn which admitadly didn't have an abundance of RPG's but it still boasted a few of the greatest i've ever played including "Panzer Dragoon Saga", "Guardian Heroes" and "Shining The Holy Ark".

The Nintendo 64 was next for me and it sure hads it's share of classics from the majesty of "The Legend Of Zelda:The Ocarina Of Time" to the RPG-lite "Mystical Ninja:Featuring Goemon". I also enjoyed "Paper Mario" and "The Legend Of Zelda:Majora's Mask".

The Sony Playstation became my next console and what better RPG to start off with than the emotional roller coaster that was "Final Fantasy VII". I also enjoyed the sequels VIII and IX, plus a few other great RPG's on the system including "Vandal Hearts" and "Parasite Eve".

I never had a Sega Dreamcast but regularly played "Skies Of Arcadia" and "Shenmue" on a friends. Thankfully "Skies Of Arcadia" got a Gamecube port and i still play it avidly to this day. Unfortunately "Shenmue" never got ported to any of the current consoles, however it's sequel did turn up on the XBox and although i love it to bits, i would have liked to have played the original again(maybe it's time i got a Dreamcast!!)

Of the current consoles, i own a PS2, XBox and a Gamecube and am happy to say that RPG's just keep getting better and better. Some of my favourites on those consoles include.....
PS2..."Final Fantasy X", "Dragonquest:The Journey Of The Cursed King", "Dark Chronicle", "Kingdom Hearts I & II", "Deus Ex", "Steambot Chronicles".
XBox..."The Elder Scrolls III:Morrowind", "Jade Empire", "Fable", "Star Wars:Knights Of The Old Republic I & II", "Shenmue II"
Gamecube..."The Legend Of Zelda:The Windwaker", "The Legend Of Zelda:Twilight Princess", "Baten Kaitos:Eternal Wings & The Lost Ocean", "Paper Mario:The Thousand Year Door", "Skies Of Arcadia:Legends".

It's also been nice to see other games incorporating RPG elements, making the experience deeper and less linear. "Beyond Good & Evil", "Psychonauts" and "Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas" are among my favourites.

Currently the RPG i'm playing is the recently released "Okami". Not strictly a traditional RPG, more a "Zelda" style Action/RPG but damn is it georgeous! smiley - smiley

Tijerius aka Deep - Prince of Requiem City

Hi, I've been RPGing for a few years now. I started as a dice-roller but have since moved on to the joys of LARP and Mind's Eye Theatre.
I'm predominantly a Vampire the Masquerade guy although I've been known to dabble in a bit of D20 Modern and Wraith: The Oblivion.

I play a few first person RPGs on the PS2 but I find they don't stand up to some good old live action stuff.

I would like to take part in a role-playing society on h2g2 but I can't seem to find an active one
