I've been told, that in a barrel with enough water for the fish that they aren't already dead, it is not as easy as you might think to shoot them
Personally, I prefer depth charge in an aquarium

Yes I'd like my haddock, on the bone, lightly grilled with a faint green tinge from being fished by radioactive orbital bombardment

Meh... whatever the reasons behind this change, I still feel like our feedback is no longer wanted.

It is wanted, when it's a security issue or very serious. Do write to [email protected] for those cases.

But again, since we have no *new* problems reported in quite a while, we really really would like to finally be able to clear the backlog we have.

And this is now possible, since the latest update to the site.

I'd just like to reiterate, feedback is always welcome. All we've closed down is the bug reporting. We're moving to a new system, that was going to be a surprise, and until then we need to clear out the old reports smiley - smiley

Since a lot of bug reporting done would be duplications of what is already on the list, it does seem better to let the testing team finish off the current set, and see what happens then smiley - cake

Yeah, there needs to be a proper way to triage bugs, and to mark which depend on which, and to close them as duplicates, and suchlike. A proper bug-tracking system. Trying to use a forum to do this work will just result in endless duplication, so it's probably a great idea to switch.

(In fact, I think you already are using a proper bug-tracking system behind the scenes, aren't you?)

smiley - spacesmiley - space"An open forum on a public facing site is not the best place to do this, if anything it raises the likely hood of people trying to hack the site simply because we're showing them where the bugs are."

This makes a great deal of sense to me. Thank you all for continuing to make the place the best it can be.

Although I'm a little bit concerned about all this fish shooting.

Is it just me, or should we be concerned that vulnerabilities in h2g2 can be exposed as easily as someone posting a bug report? It's generally the norm that users post to online forums to request support or report service issues.

If you do have material information security issues, I'd suggest you work on these as priority.

We are Icy, and it's why we've also asked that people email them to the tech team rather than posting them into the public facing forums.
