My offspring urged me to install a bar in my shower because of my old age 
Now I'm thinking maybe they meant a bar of soap

I tried using a bar of soap to dry off with, but it didn't work at all.
I'll stick to using a

I don't recommend installing a bar in your shower. You could slip on the ice and have a nasty fall.

A mates wife was a Carer, visiting ill/old folk etc.
I couldn't get her to give me a bed-bath
