It was nice of the cloney machiney thing to sort out some tight clothing for her!

Still joking aside there could be some interesting possibilities here.
She has got some weird military stuff hard coded into her. Despite shaking it for this episode it does allow the possibility of some future conflict with the Dr.
She could easily feel a bit abandoned. The next time we meet her she could be quite different.
I reckon the Master is going to still be kicking around somewhere and it owuld be interesting for the Docs daughter to fall under his influence!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I definitely got the feeling that there's going to be some sort of trouble caused by her later. I know she came across as a "good guy" in the episode, and I think she's a great character, but I just thought that something wasn't quite right... Anyone else think that, or is it just me?

Yeah, the best bad guys are ones who closely reflect the hero but are slightly different.
How could this be better than the Docs daughter?
Things didn't quite work out the way she had planned, she didn't have much fun, didn't save many worlds and, heck, the running was not as good as Donna and the doc cracked up.
More than that she just couldn't find her old man.
By she finally manages to grow her own tardis she has quite changed and the idealism of the doc seems a long time away. It could be great if she said "Hi Dad" again but with totally different connotations.
That would be so
But lets be honest RTD aint gonna go there, it will be some chummy soap opera stuff....

I was disappointed by the way they did it. I think a lot of us were hoping they'd dig some real skeletons out of the Doctor's back-story. As it turned out, it looked more as if they just said "Let's toss him a daughter and see what happens." The fact that she's extraordinarily hot also pushes things in a certain direction (although I'm REALLY not complaining).
Still, they pulled it out and managed some interesting stuff from it. They still played a bit on the back-story, and Tennant got to do some real emotional acting. The overall result was good, but some way short of my hopes.

I still think there is every possibility they could explore the Doc through jenny.
My worry is that RTD aint too keen on sustaining the dark stuff. but it could be soooooo .

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring ) Posted May 10, 2008
Not sure what to make of that one, the monsters weren't scarey and were in touch with their feminine side really, and it all turned out right in the end as only a 7 day war, huh?
.
A spin off series in the offing, for the love of God noooooooo!!!. We have enough of those and one is so touchy feely one could quite easily puke.
And a daughter appears who isn't so much a daughter as appears to be some of genetic engineering experiment, but has 2 hearts so all is right with the world.
I can't get my head around this weeks programme as wasn't a shoot 'em up episode in the conventional sense, more a we-are-all-in-the brotherhood-of-man thingy, except one was a fish with a bottle on its face!

SPOILER WARNING
Forgot to say, I really liked the seven-days plot twist, and the concept it implied. It really reminded me of the kind of thing the old sci-fi writers like A.C. Clarke or Asimov might come up with for a short story.
Don't think Jenny is going to be a spin-off, but it seems almost certain she'll be back in future Who episodes. Whether they have those episodes planned, or are just keeping the possibility open remains to be seen.

I quite liked the dolphins-with-a-homwebrew-bubbler-in-their-mouth-who-speak-'fart-in-the-bath' -language, but the whole episode screamed nothingness to me. Even the supposed melodramatics were unconvincing. And while I fancy the pants off Georgia Moffett, she's not actually a very good actress. At all.
Looking at the Radio Times preview, the next three episodes should be a treat, though.

I thought that was a rather crappy episode. The story was not interesting, and the daughter was there just for the sake of it, rather than showing something new about the Doctor. At least she managed to show up some of the Doctor´s hypocracy. Why the hell was she cloned with clothes on anyway?

Yeah, I don't see at all that every alien has to be scary. There should be a nice mix of all reactions: creepy, terrifying, interesting, amusing and beautiful, spread across all episodes. These guys came closest to option 3, while the Sontarans were a blend of 2 and 3 with a little 4.

So are we to assume that the second faction of humans got problems when someone threw a fish into the cloning machine as a practical joke?

Because it's sexier to leave some things to the imagination!

As a brief gesture towards defence of Tate, can I just say that 'Cool the beans Rambo' made me chuckle this evening?
I hope there's not an instantly diminishing returns spinoff starring the Doctor's daughter (though that was my first thought too) - but it is encouraging to see the new series sowing some new mythology as well as just trading on what's already there.
