Ooooh, I can't wait now! It's only, what, a little over a month?? Hasn't time flown!

Also the 4-disk extended version DVD is coming out on Monday (11/11/02). I've got mine ordered

me not got ot but i'd say would be soooooooooooo worth it. 30 min extra footage incl the gift giving @ lothlorien! vital stuff 2 have access 2!

It's worth it. And it comes with a ticket to the two towers.

So what have you all heard about the Two Towers? How much does it differ from the books?? (I'm excited to see Treebeard though!)

I've heard that PJ took the most liberties with the plot of TTT, but I've decided not to care and just love the movie for whatever it is. THe trailers so far look fantastic.
I think these movies are no more a corruption of Tolkien's work than Led Zeppelin songs are; they are an entirely different medium.

And besides, this is, as always, someone's interperetation of the work, someone's imagination. It's bound to be different.

After the first one, I have full confindence in Peter I wonder how much we'll see of Arwen this time around...

Can't wait for her to die slowly over several centuries.

Oh but she's Arwen... Have to say, Galadriel was scary in TFoTR. She shouldn't be scary!

She was ambiguous in the book, but the theatrical cut only kept the scary side. Her happier side is restored in the extended dvd. The scenes with her and gimli were lovely.

I really have to see that. I haven't been able to find someone with a copy. Oh well.

i gotta find a copy too. spose theres always copies to download from nice but naughty peeps.

I got an advertising e-mail from Odeon cinemas saying that tickets are on same by internet _now_! I think I'll just wait until I can pop down to my local and grab a ticket, though. I'm also going to see it on Boxing Day with the family, as that's my Mum's birthday.
As far as I can tell from the trailers, Elrond spontaneously develops the gift of prophecy, although he's not very good at it, because he makes a prediction that we know full well will not come true.

Hmm. That is tempting. Problem is, I can't plan that far in advance! (though saying that, I have the January meetup firmly planted in my diary...)

I'm still in two minds about the new FotR DVD, as I got the first version.

rent it then. It's definitely worth watching even if you dont want to buy it.
