No, just ask Garius Lupus, he's the reigning expert on info about me on the Internet. While he's never asked, I'm pretty sure he'll tell you that I abstain based on other facts he's peiced together about me.
Besides, I'm under age.

So where would be a good "central" place to meet?
Central States Researchers
Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 30, 2002
I'd vote Chicago, Illinois. It's right there with all of the train stations (a Central State Staple(tm), I might add), thus providing easy transports. Even got an airport if memory serves. Failing that, there are similar areas across Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and the like. A major city would, unfortunately, probably be better than the rural areas that surround the majority of these states.

and navy pier rocks! its one of my favorite places in chicago. i also like riding the trains.
affy, we could have a pepsi in your honor.... i wouldn't even spike it, i promise altho it would be better if you could drink it in person....
and i *never* would have guessed you underage. i was thinking early twenties. and i had you and garius figured for about the same age.
i'm all for a central states meet! i'm not close enough to chicago to scout anything out or make arrangements. i could probably peice together enough information for something really informal tho, unless someone closer with more city knowledge wanted to do it.
when? mid-may?
and yelbakk, glad you found us! we'd love to have you! it's turning out to be a pretty brutal week for me, but i'll try to get you on the page today or tomorrow.

okay, so i took a little longer than a day or so to add you, yelbakk. i might be slow, but i get there in the end. i've listed you on the page today, noting that you are 'on loan from germany'. if you would prefer i remove that bit i can
so, are you studying in the u.s. for a semester or a year? i don't know that much about minnesota. it seems it would be a boring place from a social perspective, but i've heard it's beautiful. count your blessings, you could be in kansas (no offense, michele!)
i've started a thread for a meet up if anyone is interested. i think it would be great to have one sometime this year. you can check it out here: F72532?thread=165918

Hey! I resemble that remark!
Chicago is good for me, although I'll be up there already in June for a business trip!

Yelbakk Posted Feb 10, 2002
YAY!!! I am in!!!
And, please *do* leave the on-loan bit in. I like it.
And, hey, Chicago is just 8 hours away, so I'll just go ahead and second (third, whatever) that suggestion.

Hi remember me?
I have many friends in Chicago that could suggest a meet up place.
I've traveled there by trains, planes and automobiles. Very accesible place. And many great places to see and do!!! I go to your link Broe to discuss further.
Thanks again for your hard work here!

hey! welcome niten! i've gotten you up on the page (in record time, i might add ) along with subcom. deidzoeb's recently edited article on the hash bash in ann arbor. i'll have to go and read that one to see what it's all about. the title sounds somewhat illegal
there are a few of us that would like to have a local meet-up this summer, we're discussing the possibilities here if you're interested: F72532?thread=128104
and happy birthday apollo! a little birdie told me well, maybe not, but it had wings anyway

hello again! i just wanted to let everyone know about some updates i've made recently.
cristiana U192617 has joined us from iowa, i've just added her to the page. we have only three states not represented now: wisconsin and the dakotas.
i've added a paragraph to our introduction mentioning our meet-up discussion with a link to the relevant thread.
linda has put us on the <./>CommunityEvents</.> page under the heading 'sometime in 2002'.
i've suggested another date we might plan a meet: the weekend after labor day.
anyone else have any news?
i hope you're all having a lovely spring, and having no problems weathering the weather

sorry. i didn't get much posting done last week, was having trouble connecting, by the time the connection had cleared up i was too busy working and dredging thru backlog!
i was sad last week over the passing of jack buck and darryl kile, two of our cardinals that have forever flown. it was just such a shock losing darryl kile, especially being less than a week after jack had gone. it consumed our media and was a quite a bit to swallow, kind of like when a young celebrity dies, only a lot closer to home.
over the shock now... it's still very sad but not so much at the forefront of every news broadcast anymore.
now we're just hot (and humid). is there anywhere that those two words don't come together naturally? after awhile it's hard to imagine any kind of heat without humidity. the only time it's not humid is when it's raining
and how is everyone else faring?
Key: Complain about this post
