Does the A # change for an update? I thought they just updated the existing page (although I've admittedly been out of the loop for some time). Do I need to change anything on this page? If I do it may take a few weeks, I'm currently h2g2ing from my phone. Bit hard to do an update that way

Basically what happens is the new file will overwrite the old file
so when the editors make the change clicking on the file you have there will give the 2011 version (rather than the one you see now). You do not need to change anything.
I thought it curious that only Hringer commented on these changes
(none of the researchers you list even noticed).

One thing we might need to think about is how many of the Central US Researchers became inactive (unable to log-in) after the last upgrade.

Yes, I'm sure most everything on this page is out of date. I'm sure many members are inactive, tho whether they've lost their accounts or just drifted away would be hard to tell. Many members were listed here just for the fact that they live in the best parts of the US, and most were never very active anyway.
Seems like most of the US groups have gone somewhat inactive. I know Shea (NE) isn't around as much anymore, and I checked Mikey's (NW) page the other day and saw she hasn't been around in a few years. I don't remember right off who ran the other groups.
I saw your update in PR when I came back to the site, but didn't have the time to read it or comment, sorry !
