, Anole. If you have to go offline, they'll cover for you.
And I guess the GPS works because the Starship sends a signal and relays it off buoys it leaves behind in orbit, since the Navaronese don't have this stuff.

You outrank a sergeant, but not any officers. Sergeants are non-coms.

Are we using army or navy ranks anyway? Where does the "Captain" stand - as a major, or as a sea captain?

Army ranks, except for the fact that the Captain is a ship's captain, therefore more exalted than a mere infantry captain. It's sort of mix and match, as usual. 
But ensign was a rank in Wellington's army, below a Lieutenant.
