I'm sure there must be millions of bars in the world...

The atmosphere in some bars is very nice. There's a place called Charley's Saloon that I used to have dinner at when I had had a stressful day. It felt like a haven from the craziness of the outside world.

of all the gin joints in all the world i prefer marinestuen (navy room) and the joker pub in my home town plus 'zur kogge' (old type of ship) in rostock and 'börsenkeller' (cellar under the exchange) in flensburg
then there is 'the irish pub' in berlin and another irish pub/bar/restaurant on manhatten that i can't remember the name of - but they served the best pastrami it has ever been my pleasure to taste
by the way, saturday mourning turns out not to be too bad after all. i only have midi-evil s from last nights medieval party

What you need is a nice plate of hot food, and plenty of coffee, some ibruprofen and a bit of exercise.
They lie down in a darkened room
I am feeling ultra healthy today - for no discernible reason at all

That sounds good, lanzababy, except for the inverted order. Shouldn't the ibuprofen come *after* the exercise?

In my professional opinion, Pierce seems highly adapted to the use of and other form of alcoholic beverages.

paul, brain cells are like a herd of buffalos or wildebeest: in the long run (!) the weak ones are killed off and only the strong survive

"brain cells are like a herd of buffalos or wildebeest: in the long run (!) the weak ones are killed off and only the strong survive" [Pierce]
It depends on how long the long run is. Eventually, old age will make even the strongest ones weak. What matters is the lady buffalos' ability to keep pumping out little baby buffalos to replenish the herd. Are your brain cells copulating enough?
