I saw some amazing faux finishes in the chapel of a mental institution today.

I noticed that.
Why in would someone put faux finishes in a mental institution?? Wouldn't that with one's head? Seems kind of redundant given the circumstances..

I think it was symbolic. The back of the chapel was all faux, but the front had genuine carvings and stained glass windows. It's a shame the building is going to be demolished soon.

I'd partially agree with Paul, as there are randomly places fireplaces and a hallway that doubles back as a pair of staircases leading to nowhere.

I always thought the "bible belt" to be more like those cheap polyester trousers made to look like you're wearing one..

Ihear that a basketball stadium is being turned into a church down in the bible belt. Having lived both in and out of it I find a lot of heathenism and hypocrisy in both places. but this does not mean the genuine article doesn't exist down in the bible belt because I assure you it does. meanwhile here on the blood I'm going to get some toast and a cup of tea. ||

Oh I'm not saying there aren't really good people in the bible belt - like everywhere there are some truly good and decent folks... I'm just saying that unfortunately they are outnumbered by the spiritual equivalent of a plaid leisure suit..

Speaking of southern Architecture, what do you think of the Clinton Library? Mum says it reminds her of a trailer.

I haven't seen it... but he is from Arkansas - did you see if they have a "Governor's Trailer" instead of a mansion or something?
