shagbark temorarily abandons the nest
The Pelican's Nest.

shagbark returns and promptly turns off heating unit to hot tub.
He then closes water valve and opens drain valve allowing hot tub to empty. When Harry returns from wherever he is hiding he can fix the dang thing. For now I just want to sit and watch the horizon without
bothering about malfunctions.

shagbark Posted Feb 27, 2003
The pelican flies in and lands on the edge of the empty tub.
shagbark gets a tray of fresh mackeral from the dumb waiter and sets it next to the pelican who immediately begins loading the fish into it's pouch.

Now then whats all this here then.
Hmmm... System shut down and drained. Well we'll just close these valves, open these valves, switch back on the main disconnect, re-engage the sequential power load processor, suspend the fourth law of thermodynamics, de-clutch the perpetual motion wheel, re-set the digital thermal control to 104 deg. F., oh and top up my of course.
Now what could have caused such a production of excess high temperature water vapour?
Ahh there it is on the bio-feed back memory core. Alec, having his youngest child now in double digits, has obviously reached "a certain age". It was just an andropause induced hot flash. Nothing to worry about. Just go vist the local Topless
Sports Car Sales and Hair Replacement clinic and schedule a nice mid-life crisis.
I now declare this hot tub officialy back in service.
feeds the pelican a couple of fish and walks to the rail to gaze out over the souther ocean.
I'm certainly glad this mast is better engineered than that of the NZ boat in the America's cup. Not a pretty site in race four. Soon enough I think the "Swiss" team of Kiwi ex-pats will be breaking open the .

Did someone say the hot tub is open for business again???
Woohoo!!!!
*holds her nose and does a cannonball right into the middle of the tub*
HOT! HOT! HOT!

Adjusts the heat control to 102 deg. F. out of respect for some of the patron's delicate conditions.

At this time I haven't "been" anywhere such as out of town. But work has kept dragging me out at 4 and 5 in the morining to test a piece of equipment (a sound level test that requires relative quiet in the area) so I have been asleep at the times I usually have to post and only half awake the rest of the time. Also this computer is seldom out of use in the evenings as I have three teenagers who constantly tell me "I just need to check my e-mail"

so I hear that the Swiss are celebrating today. But next year maybe we can get that cup back to America. Maybe us pirates should go steal the cup

Yes of course!! The Blood is clearly a superior sailing vessel to any of those glorified carbon fiber dinghys!! We deserve the cup and I dare say with our multi-national crew we could the hold the next competion any where we want. Much better than bouncing about in Lake Genevea or whatever body of water the Swiss team thinks they can declare as "home" for the next regatta.

I just posted the idea down in the Captain's quarters. Do you think it would help if we posted it in the employee break room?

I've never been in the employee break room unless you're refering to the lighthouse bar. Are copies of The National Enquirer and Word Weekly News scattered about there? The ones in our factory break room are always lying about opened to the fashion pages, photos of various celebs barely covered by fashionable gowns. I'm sure the boys only buy them for the articles.

Quick greeting from mari-rae and me. We're OK, but largely off-line ... and missing all you guys!!!!
Why bother with the Auld Mug? It's so big the beer would get warm before you could empty it

Kes!! Lovely to hear from you! I hope where ever you are your navigating the dificulties of travel with the same aclarity with which you dispatch your duties aboard ship.

I think I need to add a sub-routine to the bio-feed back monitor that will adjust the water temperature to suit the person in the tub. If more than one person is in the tub I need to add an algorythm that would calculate the temperature that would result in the most pleasing effect to the average of the requirements of the sum of the persons in the tub. Hmmm this may take a or two to work out but I'm willing to make the sacrifice and ingest as many
as required to make the system work.

Hmmm...Perhaps I have miscalculated the migrational drift of the moon in relation to the various astrological signs.
kicks control box
Ah, that seems to have adjusted it nicely.
