I think that you could go quite comfortably insane, so long as the lights outside went on the lights inside
and still fulfill a usefull job for society..
Seen The Shining ?

So light ?
Is it a sort of hankering for lonelyness
or something freudian
I bet people ask you this all the time...

Alright, Jack Nicolson gets a job in a big hotel in alaska looking after it for the winter when it is isolated. Takes his family, wants to write a book. Goes nuts. Ends up freezing to death in a maze somewhere (which obviosly wouldnt be a problem in a lighthouse)
Synopsis.
See it if you get a chance, one of stanly kubricks best, along with apocalypse now and doctor strangelove

Pleasure..
Went out with a girl once who was penny farthing champion of europe
(and had medals and thighs to prove it)
Apparently its bloody dangerous because if you try to stop you go over the handlebars and fall about 15ยดยด onto your head.
Especially the mountain stages...

I thought "The Shining" took place in Colorado.
I am guessing that Stephen King used the Mt.
Washington Hotel in New Hampshire as the basis
for the hotel in his book (from which the movie
was made), but I could be wrong.
Shelley Duvalle and Scatman Crothers were also in the movie.

Did anyone see the new version of The Shining they made? It was auful. According to my research, after the Nickleson Shining, Stephen King was so upset at the way the book was butchered, he insisted on being a part of any other of his books made into movies, which explains why all other Stephen King movies suck.
