So what is that over the fireplace behind you?
* wonders if it was a good idea to point out the fireplace which seems to have appeared in the Lighthouse Bar since the weather turned a little colder - it is on the wall between the balcony and the bar *

Could we get an elderly pirate to jump off the bar?

Ooohhh Light, you made me jump! You had gone so quiet, I didn't know you were there!
Where did that fireplace come from?
Is Cap'n P that elderly then? I must look at him more closely!

Yes thanks Tuc, the two who live in lower Manhatten are safe as is the one who arrived there on Monday He is travelling within the US to try and find a way to get home. It is a huge relief althouth the whole thing still leaves me feeling really empty. Have Jenny's parents heard from her again?

Hi.
I am here.
Still sort of sleeping.
I have been terribly exhausted these days. Sometimes I hate to be a journalist. The tragedy in America shocked the whole world. Still we have here our own tragedy - atm 53 dead and around 70 still in the hospital because of drinking methyl alcohol as vodka. In a population of 1,5 million it is a tragedy too. And somebody did it. So on monday, tuesday, wednesday I worked double-shift and talked only about the tragedies. This upsets a little, doesn't it?
Yesterday and today I work out of office so I can't spend much time online. And tomorrow I'll travel to Sweden! And I try not to think about the tragedy with m/s Estonia in sept 1994. We will pass the place in the nighttime and the hooter will hoot when we are at the place. The trip to Sweden takes 16 hours, I hope it'll not be windy.

I for one had just not realised, it must be terrible for you. The media here are so focussed on the USA that even our national news, like a new leader for the opposition party hardly got a mention. My friend who we finally heard from yesterday in New York, used to be a journalist and I remember clearly talking to him about how much the stories he covered could effect him, as recievers of the news we tend to forget this. You know we are here for you dont you?
I hope you have a fantastic time in Sweden and that you voyage is as smooth as the ones on this ship. Maybe you should ask Alec for one of his anti movement devices to take with you!

On a lighter note, I have 2 cars one of which is an old banger which I use for work. My brother asked me if he could borrow it so I said yes as long as he put some petrol in it. Which he did. But the car is unleaded and he put lead replacement in it . It was jumping all over like a kangeroo yesterday when I was driving it. Ryan did say that he looked all over for a sticker that said it was unleaded and when he couldn't find it he assumed it took normal petrol. Anyway the cars alright so no harm done.
