Would tht be the bit shaped like an old boot up here on the chart? *points* We are sort of headed in that direction ... about half way up ...somewhere around where the knee should be. Amalfi! Helmsman! Left hand down a bit!

Um, yes, Italy it was. But were in Italy were we supposed to go first?
Wake me up before we get there, will you, please? I would like to study the interior decorating of some of the bars in the harbour

*the whistle in the speaking tube is blown with such force that it is ejected from the horn...
alec, speaking in a tubular voice, is heard to say

....and St Andrew ...don't forget him! pirates or not, we are all sailors!
*Fiddles with dividers and parallel rulers on the chart*
If the wind holds, we should be off the Amalfi coast by the end fo the forenoon watch. Does anyone know where the handbrake is on this ship? .. or failing that, can someone operate the anchor?

Do you mean that big piece of scrap iron at the end of a chain?
I thought the captain traded that to a scrap iron dealer for a case of schnaps.
The Bridge
Kes Posted Nov 21, 2001
In that case (not of schnapps), tie the ATGC to the end of the anchor chain and hope it holds!

*Points to chart, gets out calculator*
Well ...as you can see from the length of the bisector of the fundamole here, and the variation in magnetic North, then given the tidal flow and prevailing winds, we should reach Italy round about ....
*The ship shudders slightly, and there is the sound of a gravelly scrunching from the keel. Kes looks very embarrassed*
Er ...if there's anybody here for (*points at chart*) there .... well ...we're here!

*yells into the intercom:*
Amalfi - Amalfi - passengers are requested to leave from the portside of the ship. There will be no service in the main mess as long as this ship staus in the port.
Smoking on the car decks is not allowed
Thank you!

~ring ring ring~
Hello? Bridge? Crow's Nest here. Uh. Land Ho... Um. I want to report that we have kind of scrunched up onto Italy. I would have been looking out, but I just was bungee jumping and it slipped by me, sort of. Sorry. Um.
Well, Land Ho anyhow.
Bye...
