*After the tall cargo ships has passend under them the captain pushes a button on his small remote control and "The Blood" softly settles on the sea again*
Smart thing this ATGC (automatic temporary gravity corrupter). Knew it would come in handy some day

*Gathers up charts and navigating implements from the deck, and returns them to the chart table. Taps the binnacle as if he knows what he's doing*
Er, yes, Cap'n ... nice maneouvre!

Actually it works automatically, navigator, but it had never really been put to a test yet, so I have to admit I was a little nervous there. Modern electronic devices may be fine - but only *if* they actually function...
Ah, well, it worked this time, so I'll pop down to the bar to celebrate as alcohol is not allowed on the brige, of course.

Kes Posted Nov 3, 2001
Ooh! What you got there, Floh? SHould be better than drinking the alcohol out of the ship's compass ....
The Bridge
shagbark Posted Nov 3, 2001
No wonder we never can tell where the Blood is. the compass is damaged.
The Bridge
Kes Posted Nov 4, 2001
Not so much damaged as alcohol-deficient ... like most of the crew in the mornings ...

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Nov 5, 2001
I'll have you know that I've got as much alcohol in me as that compass is having blood and...

Encapsulated Life Pod Number 3- Muse of Gibberish Posted Nov 6, 2001
Ahh, that sounds about my status...
*wanders in, clutching half empty bottle of something that has mist rising off it.. taps compass with small hammer ... whistles*

*Compass needle spins round again ...this time settling on the Pacific Island Cruise Holiday (just went past the car)*
The Bridge
shagbark Posted Nov 7, 2001
A tall mysterious stranger enters bridge. Nods to Kes and fills compass with vodka, then leaves as quick as he came.
The Bridge
Kes Posted Nov 7, 2001
*Compass needle now pointing at an olive floating round amid the vodka ....*
The Bridge
Kes Posted Nov 8, 2001
*Impales slice of lemon on the dividers, and passes it to the Cap'n*

Hello? Hello? Is this the galley? This is the lookout up in the Crow's Nest. I need some things sent up here. Um. Ready? Cheese. Crackers. Little sandwiches. Booze. Lots of that. Uh. Mixes I guess to go with the booze. Ice. Balloons would be good. Hello? Are you guys paying attention? And those gizmos that shoot out sticky string when you press the button. Got it? Hello?
