..."a neat little island with some coconut palms, some white rum and old buried pirate-treasure and whatnot"...
how about the Marquesas as our next port of call Captain Pirrhana??
http://www.alptuna.com/public/marquesas/home.htm
looks nice there, i'm sure we can find some treasure if we look hard enough, we've got all the white rum we need...i suppose they've got some whatnot there too....the islanders must smoke SOMETHING !!
How about it fellow pirate persons??
We could get Mr. Kes the navigator to program the autopilot for us, put in a few waypoints, make the GPS go 'beep' and all that sort of thing, i mean...how many times CAN you visit the maritime museum in Hobart anyway??
I'm for a change in scenery.

Hello down there, this is the Lookout up here in the Pelican Nest. I would like to report that Hobart is still abaft the beam. The Pelican is having a bout. The hot tub is full and bubbling. A. (Harry) Tuttle is stuck. Shagbark says 'hi'. And the dumbwaiter is working just fine.

Kes Posted Mar 21, 2003
Sorry to hear about the Pelican! Try him with some brandy
*Now using the Yellow Pages for navigation.*
OK Cap'n ... I think I've found what you wanted ... but tell me, why did you want to hire a Marquee?

Once we get to those islands and if the Pelican gets into a fight with Flint, will they have to abide by the Marquesas of Queensbury rules???

F F Churchton Posted Mar 21, 2003

Have we had enough of the puns yet, I'll marques the day we stop on the calender!!!

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Mar 28, 2003
stop on the calender? what are you taling about? our navigator may not be 100 percent infallible, but he usually stops on the map
The Bridge
F F Churchton Posted Mar 28, 2003
Velocity is made upon distance (the map) and time (the calender)!!!

shagbark Posted Mar 28, 2003
In all the days I have spent at this lookout, I have never seen this ship get where it was going when it was expected to. I remember one time we let the Canary islands in February and didn't get to America until three months later. Calendars have very little to do with
travel aboard SEP powered vehicles. And velocity must almays be decremented by our 4th dimension hyperspace compensation.

I say we throw Kes into a complete tizzy and appoint a one armed helmsman, and you know which hand he should be missing.
