Mr. Christopher, enjoying the Magicians Guild game where he is called Polonius Franc, Elder Healer and local merchant

Everyone in my family went nuts. My cousin Mark worked in the towers, but they transfored him last week to Jersey City. My Cousin Stephanie was trapped in the midtown chaos. My Uncle Nathan, who only goes in to work in the towers on Tuesdays had stayed home this time. My cousin Jessica's roommate dissapeared on the Subway, but they found her, and my Aunt Eddith's boyfriend was also found. I met someone today who actually worked in the lobby of Tover 1 for the past five days. He was late on Tuesday, and all he has left is his security pass. All of the parents of my schoolmates survived, but six alumni died.

I'm afraid I will be very nervous about
being too close to tall buildings--let
in them--for some time to come. Thoughts
of those poor people jumping from the towers
still haunt my mind.

Ralph, the Janitor - Keeper of Magic Tricks that don't work (and some that do!)

I'm glad that I live where I do. The tallest things around me are trees! I'm still just numb at the loss. The loss of life, and liberty, and happiness.smiley - sadface

Ralph has a real point ... The loss of life, and liberty, and happiness ...

I was just talking to my Mom. She said that my older brother (who was always afraid of flying anyway), said he'll never fly again. A friend of mine at work doesn't know if she'll take the trip to Florida with her family at the end of the month as planned.

This is what they wanted. They wanted us all to be afraid of living our lives the way we always have. Not only have they taken the lives of Americans, but they've tried to take away our liberties, and our happiness.

I'm still flying to Texas on the 27th. I'll still go into the City. I can cower in a basement, but is that what I really want? We can't let fear keep us from living. If that happens, then they've won.

Keep praying for the victims, their families, and the rescue workers.

Okay, I was being figurative ... I live in an upstairs apartment ... the closest thing I have to a basement is under the bed ... and trust me, I'm not fighting the dust bunnies for space! smiley - winkeye

Thanks for the info, broe. It doesn't like my homepage, though. I think I already have too much stuff on it already!

I will Batty! Welcome!

One of the reasons I put the NE Researchers back in my nickname, was in the hope of getting some of the new researchers to come by. Getting an old timer is an added benefit! smiley - smiley

I think this brings a good point up. We absolutely cannot let our lives be ruled by this. It makes the destruction more complete (IMHO anyway).

Because I'm in the travel/tourism industry I've seen the fear some are experiencing about traveling. I am still going to Charlotte to see my mom next month and I'm still going to Germany in December and I'm still fully intending to take my cruise (or maybe two) to Europe.

Of some note is that the passenger terminal in NYC is not accepting ships. The QE2 is porting out of Boston instead of NYC. The Silver Whisper will not come in, nor will the Seabourn Pride. Both of which I was scheduled to inspect this month. I'm sure I'm missing some ships, but those are the ones I know of.

I do realize it's not fear keeping the ships out of NYC, but the fact that there is simply no way for them to come in and port. Just thought I'd mention it.

I'm not Jewish, but I've noticed that a lot of their holidays have more than one spelling-so I have no idea what the proper spellings are at all.
