A537734 Aces' Code of Conduct
The non-disclosure section is particularly revealing as to the double-standards practised by the staff. It is actually about "new versions of the site". Yet it has been abused on this thread and previously to apply to anything discussed in the groups.
"We will be explicit about things you should keep to yourself" - another confirmation that people are being falsly and hypocritically accused of breaking this rule since: (a) most things are not explicit stated as confidential; (b) the staff give away more!
Other telling phrases are: "the same terms and rules apply to the mailing lists associated with the volunteer schemes" and in the rest of that section. So that ought to include those being deliberately offensive to me then and breaking other significant rules. It didn't though of course, any more than it did here. Funny that. One rule for the staff and underlines and another for other researchers - especially if those researchers have the unwanted tendency to see through the false things and tell the truth about them.
Some of us already have standards. This place needs more consistent ones but unfortunately theirs will probably be another double.

Re: post 1776
"yeah i did read them when the link was posted"
pity you didnt read the backlog then aswell as perhaps you wouldnt of jumped to so many wrong conclusions and assumptions about Kow's character, i note still you dont feel you owe him an appology, still its no more than expected, at least if the unnofficial rules are anything to go by..and as i recall you said Kow was trying to cause an argument, makes me wonder why then Vicky Virago's post was removed and not his, (but at least she has held her hands up to her misunderstanding), perhaps you disagree with the yikeser?
"please stop make it seem very underhand"
Intern, i read the posts properly before responding to them, i can only go by what you have posted
"but im not going to appologise for telling a researcher to leave becouse it seemed like another researcher was wanting a argument"
as per - you have completely missed the point, it is a waste of time trying to explain it to you because you just dont get it
"act proper eerrm i am by not breaking the house rules on site and helping people"
helping who? as i said you have completely missed the point
"the ones i missquoted a appologise for and said that it was a error on my part if you go back through the 'back log' so trying to use that one again just aint cricket"
Intern, im not trying to 'use that 1 again', i am just trying to point out you dont read any of my posts properly, you have missquoted them since i pointed it out to you, and i have seen the post where you acknowledged this, but your still doing it, if you misquote somebody you are libelling them (ie me), and if you havent understood whats been said, then you post about completely different views, thus leading me to the conclusion you might be having some difficulties comprehending posts, its for your benefit somebody asking you not to misquote them, as theirs already been enough misunderstandings in here dont you think
"altho untrue/unfounded acusations of wrong doing by some aces without actually proving behond a shadow of a doubt ie including any links or relevant infomation to links to prove that any wrong doing is actually taken place
what we have is researchers claiming wrong doing and miss deed's by aces so its a classic your word agaist aces and also your's against management's word of wrong doing"
but Intern if you have read everything, you would find some of these claims are founded, against aces aswell as management as you call them, though i suspect this paragaragraph is particularly toward me, well i did find a few posts early on that were either explained away as innocent or 'depends how you read them', then im sure you'll remember aces and researchers conversations started disappearing, and of course my mails to h2g2 were presumably filed in the waste paper bin, those emails contained a hell of a lot more detail than what im allowed to post here, so a case of your word against ours, not entirely so, links that cannot be explained away have either been ignored, overlooked or yikesed
"by the way i am re reading posts now before a post"
good for you Intern, cant do any harm can it
"aww shucks you even noted that i did something correctly"
and? you make it sound as though im saying an ace rarely gets things right? dont forget the issue - some aces, and for that matter i think the subject title seriously needs redressing as we now are not only discussing some aces in this thread - any suggestions? ANYBODY?

The Aces aren't replying because we've asked them to back off for a while. Simple as that. Any of those who have chosen to post regardless have done so of their own volition.
The problem with a thread like this is that people (ourselves included) tend to be defensive when challenged, so we felt that asking the people concerned to step back a little will allow us to assess the extent of feeling here in a slightly less inflamatory way (hence why, although we've read every post, we're not responding to all of them, as there's a heck of a lot of comment from both sides that seems to be more reactionary than genuinely useful).
In the meantime we've also asked the Aces to review the situation from their own point of view, so that when we review the bigger picture in the New Year we'll hopefully be better informed.
By the way, just because we don't comment on every post doesn't mean the posts are being ignored. Often we'll see a post that we might initially disagree with that we later think 'What might other people say to that?' so we step back to see the reaction.
Our stance is always that there are no 100% 'right' answers and that while there are bound to be some people who will never agree with us, we need to see whether or not they're just disagreeable by nature or whether our volunteers are genuinely making 'fixable' mistakes. There seem to be some people who have genuine concerns here, just as there seem to be the 'usual suspects' who pile into any discussion that attacks the status quo (as shown by the suspicious amount of apparent 'newbies' who discover this thread within minutes of registering, especially those who seem to miraculously find the same old threads to repost here ).
I'm clearly posting outside of office hours here (what can I say - I'm an addict. h2g2 does that to you), so I'll bow out for now, but we'll be reviewing this entire thread along with discussions from the Aces' forum offsite in the New Year.

Jimster...
The situation should be looked at more thoroughly, there has been deciept & corruption but us users never seem to find anything out as some1 seems to overlook/cover up/hide a few posts, now, are you telling me/us that there is no point posting in here cos the powers that be will do anything to keep their position's(which was mentioned b4) as so called"respected" memebers of the community...!!.....We are in a heated debate, but at least let all view the suspect post's as a vast majority of users may think there's a useful comment that will lead to the guilty powers that be
