Navigatorblack, there's also the problem that different "skins" use different fonts, so things will align differently between, say, Brunel and Goo.
Your best bet is to build it with smileys, watching out that there is now a maximum (fairly huge) limit for the number of smileys in a single posting. Just remember to preview - a lot!
And remember, there's a space* smiley too - look -><-
(* < space >, But ironically without the spaces... )

it was a wednesday. Not much happens on a wednesday, I only have a tute for an hour. Monday, tuesday, thursday, and friday I have lectures all day, but wednesday is sweet
