Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums Posted Jul 31, 2004
Lol.
In Australia right now it's 7:30 pm, and yes, I have had dinner already. (sadly, no icecream was involved).

Lady Scott Posted Jul 31, 2004
... Not that I've ever been to Kansas anyway.
If you didn't have any icecream for dinner, then go have some now!

Hey... good idea!
You should come to Kansas sometime. The scenery is quite... um... unique.

Lady Scott Posted Jul 31, 2004
More like flat. Very flat.
Plains state, you know.
But there is the occasional tornado to liven things up.

Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums Posted Jul 31, 2004
Great... tornadoes.
And flat, empty landscape.
Sounds like Outback Australia. Minus the tornadoes. And OA had the occasional twisted bush scrub to break the monotony (or add to it, whichever way you look at it).
Incedentally, where are you from, Lady Scott?

Ahhh, back to food...
Please don't get me hungry again. It's 8:30pm and for some strange and unimaginable reason, I'm tired. I don't need hunger added to it!
(On the other hand, icecream does sound good right about now...)
Why not put grated chocolate on your vanilla icecream, Kat? I dunno...
Icecream
Kat - From H2G2 Posted Jul 31, 2004
There's no chocolate in the house and I get scared of going out so Im not about to buy any. Oh well it'll be lunch soonish so maybe Ill just hang on.
Shall we talk of something not food related? ERmmmm...

I'm studying "Midsummer Night's Dream" at the moment. It's my first Shakespeare, but I'm really liking it. I've read it through twice and seen it performed.
I'm looking forward to doing Shakespeare later as I progress through high school (or should I? Some people say it's slow torture. I'm a newbie to this sort of stuff, so give me some tips here, people...)

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Jul 31, 2004
Everyone's always started on Midsummer Night because it's a nice easy play to understand and it's fun to act in.
Age when did play (as school grades differ)
Midsummer Nights Dream 11
Romeo and Juliet 13
Macbeth 15
Twelfth Night 16
Taming Of the Shrew 16-17
As You Like It 17

You did Shakespeare when you were eleven? I'm nearly fifteen and I've just started. Damn the Australian education system!
Icecream
Estelendur (AKA Esty) Posted Jul 31, 2004
*shrug* I'm thirteen. I think it varies in the American system, though. It was an extracurricular thing and such depended on a teacher who's plans are notorious for falling through. But this one worked out.

Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums Posted Jul 31, 2004
Ok...
If they offered Shakespeare as an extracurricular thing here, nobody would do it (which I guess is the point...).
I just wish I'd done it earlier. Ah well, I'm started on it now, so I can't complain.

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Jul 31, 2004
Oh I wouldn't complain. We were all SICK of it even just by GCSE year!
Obviously in the English system Shakespeare is pushed forward seeing as he's ours. I had to study Christpoher Marlowe this year too...that was MUCH worse.
Key: Complain about this post
