He wouldn't dare!
And I had a brace (retainer, I think) that was permanently fastened to my teeth (with what looks like superglue).
The number of times I was called train-tracks is uncountable!

I had braces and now I have a plate. I thought having a plate would be great compared to braces, and it would be, if I had a retainer on the bottom. But I have a plate on the bottom and IT SUCKS!!! Stupid orthodontist for never giving people retainers! My bottom teeth were never moved by the braces, I only had to the have the brace on there cause he had to move my jaw. And so, by rights, I should have a bottom retainer like my friend. But instead I have two plates!! I HATE MY BOTTOM PLATE!!!! It's worse than braces!!

I forgive you Cat-eyes.
There are a variety of braces, the ones you had and removable ones and head gear are a selection that contain branches of different types.

How come nobody ed at my joke at the bottom of the last page. It was my best pun ever and everybody missed it!!
Grr, I'm almost as angry as Cat-eyes. You should have had a second opinion like me.

I prefer the sound of the type I had, don't have to worry about removing it, keeping it clean (just brush your teeth as normal!) or anything else!

I hated braces when I had them, but they are so much better thn my bottom plate. My top one's fine though.

Well, yeah, but I still wish I had a retainer.

Is a retainer removable?
Shouting about something called Tea !!
Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ? Posted Apr 21, 2004
Yeah, so's a plate. A retainer is like a clear mould of your teeth, a plate has a wire and plastic and sits on your teeth and the bottom one invades under your tongue and is bl**dy annoying.

Yeah, I have two I'm supposed to wear at night.
It isn't a good idea to give them a miss for months at a time. /Sore

In which case, I definitely preder what I had - non-removable, stuck to your teeth and just brush as normal!
No messing about, and once the wire was in, just forget it's there until it's tightening time!

Yeah, braces were like that too.

My brace was removable, which was great as I could loosen/tighten the wires myself, so if it hurt I could control it. What is with the Rail-track braces? I don't understand thaose at all
Oh, and the Accused list has been updated....A2324233.
I wish they'd start the case. My Solicitor is costing a fortune.

"Rail-track braces" are easier to deal with. You fit and forget, and once a month go to the dentist to have it tightened!
You can't mess about with it or adjust it in any way with the dentist knowing about it, and you can ignore it once the pain has gone from the tightening.

Surely the removable ones are better, cos then there is no pain, easier to keep clean. Can take them out at night, don't need to have them 'surgically removed' and if they hurt can just leave them out. Wore mine for two years....

I noticed your pun JQ! Most worthy! Congratulations!
Those braces that you can tighten and loosen by yourself sound like heaven, but I wouldn't trust myself with them. I'd most likely loosen them too much and end up paying a horrifyingly large amount of money to have a useless piece of metal glued to my teeth. I wouldn't be disciplined enough to keep them in shape.
