Don Malvado, so bitter my cat won't even lick me Posted Mar 27, 2003
Well, I only eat small, oven pizza these days. I haven't had any of the huge, UberGreese pizzas sold as fast food in over a year

Jim's done some really nifty things to the "Plain" skin... If you know what a style sheet is, and how to edit one, you can now choose your own colours and fonts!
I've foresaken Goo for a black background with white text in "Arial Narrow" and tasteful grey links... Very relaxing!

Lady Scott Posted Mar 28, 2003
I clicked on his style sheet links in the Alabaster, plain, hub, goo, text or brunel thread... I still couldn't tell you what in the world I was looking at. Looked like gibberish to me!

It's pretty cool. In theory, we'll be able to come up with our own colour schemes and post them on our own webspace for others to use.
I confidently predict that when the "Programmers' Corner" find out about this we'll have several competing "configuration tools" within a week.

A stylesheet is a set of instructions to tell your browser what colours and fonts to use for a particular site. Jim has been kind enough to kludge the plain skin so we can supply our own, rather than relying on Auntie Beeb's colour choices. But it's not trivial - ness is a necessity...

I changed my colors in Brunel - not that I use that skin, mind you. I just find the standard color choice to be so irritating, so I found some more soothing colors to use.
Not the same thing as what you're talking about, is it?

Yes, except that there are a lot more things you can change; every section can have a different colour and font combination, if you so choose.
The difference is that only you see these customisations; the things you did to Brunel are also seen by other people visiting your page.

Yeah, I was trying to give Brunel users who went to my page something a little easier on the eyes...
I personally like Goo, though - I like my frames.

Me too, but I'm also getting to like this...
Gotta crash now. That's two nights in a row I haven't got to bed till well after 3am.
