I'm glad I walked (aside from the massive blisters), because I passed a wonderful bakery, and was greeted with open arms because I brought cookies and brownies!

Good grief! I go wash pots for a couple of hours and you all seem to get the urge to type. At least give a girl a chance to keep up....

It'll be all right. Actually I think it'll be good.
I wanna be Trillian!
Can I be Trillian? Or parhaps Fenchurch?
...or are they doing them all as films, or just the first, I dunno.

No they won't because Douggie wrote the first draft.
And they know that if they do mess it up, they'll have a creepy groub of fans leaving bags of flaming dog crap on their front porches.
So there we are then.
DON'T PANIC!

That's what always happens when books are made into movies...
Try to name even one movie that has stayed completely true to it's literary roots.

"Fellowship of the Rings" came d*mn close, you gotta give it to Peter Jackson.

Sword in the Stone stayed close to the storyline in "Once and Future King" - for that particular story, anyway.
The newer version of Dracula is actually more tightly plotted than the book but is pretty darn faithful.
But most books just barely ahve characters in common with a movie... some not even that! (Jurassic Park 2? They like took out 3 characters in the movie and put in a few extras!).

The'll mess it up. Hollywood don't give a flying frob what the plebs think. They'll make something they can market to the 11-14 age range and forget what the original radio series and the books and the tv series were. It'll be dreadful, truly dreadful.
