I would find that term very offensive. I must ask my gay friends if they have heard it..

I've heard it... it seems that if you don't support your gay friends then well.. you're against gays... but if you do and you happen to be female you're deserving of another offensive term, particularly from bigoted individuals who feel it's okay to say something offensive and it's not bigoted as long as it doesn't apply to them.

How would you describe these people then?
As I say, the term faghag is a well accepted term within the gay community and has never caused any offence. All my friends have sued it to describe heterosexual women who hang around gay men and come into gay clubs and do their disrespectful thing etc.
You really don'ty like me do you Batty.

It isn't a case of like or dislike, Rillington. It is the lack of respect you appear to have towards females. Please also remember this is a family site, so be careful in the words you are using..

No because it's a term we all use when we describe heteropsexual women who hang around gay men. The gay media uses the term and it's a word I don't find offensive.

as I said before, that does not make it right or acceptable

How would you feel if someone said they were beating up on you because "everyone else does it"?

I've never considered the term 'faghag' abusive, the female colleagues I mentioned earlier refer to *themselves* as faghags. It's honestly never crossed my mind that anyone would take issue with it.

probably because you're not a woman with gay friends, Rillington. And you're right, I have no patience for bigots.

Wow, that's not fair and out of order. I have never said I don't respect women. I choose not to be around heterosexuals for reasons given before, and I find heterosexual women to be more homophobic than heterosexual men.
My best friend several years ago was a lesbian women. We fell out but that was becuase she didn't support me in a series of traumas I was going through - ie she was a fair weather friend. It just happens to be that gay men and lesbians tend not to socialise together, which is a great shame.

I wanna come in here , now I"ve been following lotts of other threads n tried to keep my mouth shut but Im straight so I tried to keep quite but I think rillington its time for you to stand back n take an easy pill cause since I started lurking here I have never found people other than the american cowgirl to be against gay people n from what I have read so far H2 does not treat anyone differantly weather gay or straight
In fact when Ive seen straight women have a go at gays lotts of straight people jump in to defend thegays
Sorry gay kids out their if I offended any of you but I just wanted to have my say .
N enjoy being the person you are.

You're spouting excuses, not reason. You just like to excuse your own offensive opinions by blaming the object of them. You feel it appropriate to be disrespectful and offensive because in your mind it's their own fault, not yours. Just like the lovely white supremacists and the others of that ilk. It was a completely fair analysis, you just don't like your own behavior called into question.

I think the fact you are starting to compare me to a number of desireable groups means that there's no point in me replying to your posts anyone. I am upset that you hold me with so little esteem. I have not offended anyone else here and it is unfortunate that you clearly dislike me in the way that you do.

Roymondo it depends on how it's used. When it's friends joking around about each other it's one thing but when a bigoted person uses it in an insulting manner meant wholly to be rude and disrespectful (i.e. I remember once copping off with a lad and his faghag was in tow and said just how much she was being turned on by seeing us kissing. That woman was well nasty and ended up pushing me to the ground to try to get me out of the way so she could have her way with her so-caleld friend.</snip> it's a whole other issue.
Just like you'll often see those of African decent refer to each other using the N word but it's not acceptable for someone else to.

Rillington, you seem to see this as a 'for us or against us' thing. Fortunately most people couldn't give a toss which way we lean.
Key: Complain about this post
