the problem is, Roymondo, that a woman who seems to be "for you" becomes a target of scorn as well.. kind of a ed if you do, ed if you don't view... all it takes to be the target is to be straight, be female, or Bob forbid be both...

Rillington, I have met Roymondo in RL and I hope we are friends.. but I would be upset if he held me in as much contempt as you appear to have with heterosexual women..

Lil - I don't do contempt: life's too short. And you're too smashing<cuddle.
Rillington, I think that, for good reasons, you have spent too much time in exclusively gay company and see the hetero world as a threat. Anybody can fall into that trap (as have I, in different circumstances, in the past) and it takes a step back to see why you feel the way you feel.
Sorry, I know that sounds patronising, but, as the majority of the people here would agree, the hetero world *isn't* out to get us, despite the *apparent* stance of the BBC. Really, very few heteros care if we're gay or not. Yes, we might feel that they ram their sexuality down our faces while we can't flout ours but, in fact, they don't. They're just being themselves. TV, advertising, in fact *most* popular culture focusses on straight people. It should: most people are straight. We might be under-represented but blaming all heteros is not the way to change that.
I'm not sure what is.

well said Roymondo!
But to be honest any loving couple showing affection within reason (somewhere short of "hey! get a room!") is beautiful. It doesn't matter who the couple is or what the mix is. Love is, in and of itself, a rare gem.

Love? I'm still waiting.
You got any scotch eggs Batty?
I am currently listening to Hayseed Dixie's cover of Neal Young's 'Rockin' In The Free World'. Seems oddly appropriate!

I've already fallen in love with a Scotch Egg. I ate it. I think the story got round and that's why nobody's been near me since.

Probably. To be honest I only ate him because the conversation was a bit lacking. Not really his fault - he was, after all, a scotch egg.
People you say. That would involve going *out there* in the real world and socialising and stuff. Hmmm.
