I think the original tune would be very good. How about (not necessarily for the theme, but possibly later, closing credits maybe?) starting with the original banjo, and then working up to a full on orchestra. Just an idea, but I think bit's of it would sound really good.

The original theam music has to be played before anything else. Its just the only thing I can assoaiate with the begining of the film. I am not sure how the film should start but it porbebly shouldent be the astronought and the words "HITCH HIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY" again, that jokes to old.

I dont know about the entire Red Dwarf crew but
Chloë Annett as Trillian would be ok by me and Jeff Rawle
from Drop the Dead Donkey would make an niceley confused Arthur.
Incidently his character was George Dent.

err... Red Dwarf crew? Are we on the same lines here, red dwarf crew means to me, Dave Lister, Holly, The Cat, Kryten et el...?

Hmmn, Chloe (sorry, can't find the umlaut on this thing!) would fit in with DNA's original description of Trillian (from the book, anyway), whether the guys running Hollywood would agree or not we'll have to wait and see

Latest news I've heard is promising. There's definitely still forward movement on the movie. And no sign of Jim Carrey yet.

The voice of the guide could be played by James Earl Jones as far as voicer go he is up there with the best of them.
Carey could be the bowl of pettunias.

I've seen a guy in a car yesterday who looked exactly like Arthur Dent. I should have tried to remember his plate number
