h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A guy leaves his appartment, on the 12th floor of a block of flats, each morning, gets in the lift and goes to work. In the evening he comes home travels up the 7th floor then runs the rest of the way.
He's not a fitness fanatic so why does he do it ?

Thinking about your man upstairs one. Here's one for you -

Man gets up makes breakfast for himself and his wife. They both eat it, he washes up, kisses her goodbye and gets in the lift. Halfway down he realises his wife is dead. Que Passe ?

The elevator stops. His wife dies because she has a pace maker or something electronic keeping her alive.
