A Conversation for The Meanings of Usernames

How about these?

Ommigosh

I go (or used to) by the names of Ommigosh, Loggy, Simpsy Goloff, Axe
and if I had a company, it might well be called Fifth Horizon.
Any ideas what all that might mean?

Sylvia, pokémon trainer(with her Oddish)(Minister of emerald green, keeper of green magic)

Part of you analysis is true; the part about me being female, adolescent, and a Zaphodista. However, Sylvia is not my real name. I picked it because it means forest, and it is the name I use everywhere online, often in conjuction with the last name Viridian, which is a shade of forest green.

Anybody else care to try?

loonafish... c'mon: it's a smiley - fish reference, it HAS to be a Douglas Adams fan! smiley - biggrin

Come to that, the 'lunar' tone makes me think of sci-fi too. Sure, it's not much of a stretch at h2g2, but this user has to be a fan of sci-fi. I'd guess they prefer softer sci-fi, rather than the hard over-scientific stuff. Why? Well, the odd spelling of loona, and the lack of caps - it suggests a laid-back attitude to life: not too fussy about details, as long as the general idea is being got across. smiley - smiley

A pisces, perhaps? I dunno, sometimes I seem the only one on h2g2 who cares about astrology and such, but I'm sure there are others out there! Could equally be someone with a piscean outlook: dreamy, floaty, imaginative, but quite sensitive and emotional at times, and needs a little nurturing. Actually, the three ascenders and lack of descenders reinforces that - up in a dream world of their own, without much grounding in reality. Or grounding on this planet, since this user would prefer to be out at the moon - or higher! smiley - bigeyes

MaW, Yrd... do you get the impression that this is someone who values brevity at all? Surely not! smiley - bigeyes

MaW - ignore the caps, and we have a big gaping mouth, such as you might find on some big beastylike thing - or on my little sister when she's eating cake... smiley - bigeyes So what is this person hungry for? Food, power - I doubt it - the names are too subtle for that - it's more likely a hunger for information. "FEED ME" the beast thunders, as it devours ever-increasing numbers of h2g2 entries.

Yrd, being filthy, makes me think of rhymes: IE 'turd', but it's impolite to analyse the filth in people's names, so I'll steer well clear, if you don't mind... smiley - bigeyes What sort of person chooses names which are mostly unpronouncable, anyway - that's just not ! It could be rhymed with 'bird', 'furred', and many others as well - but it just ends up being such a gutteral 'ur' sound in my mind that the rest just slinks away. Do people treat you badly when you wear that name!?

Caps - more weirdness - but only for MaW. I reckon the caps are there solely to dissuade people from looking at the straight "maw" interpretation, and look for other stuff - so I shall! Perhaps an abreviation? "M---- and W----" would fit the profile best - there aren't many little words beginning with 'a'. Let's guess at "Male and Wise", in the completely randomly wrong category... smiley - smiley

Pellia Optima Maxima

I thought the pocket-demon in Azimov's books was called Azazel. Correct me if i'm wrong, but it's worth checking. Now you can have a new nickname and confuse the hell out of everyone. No pun intended. Honest.

Dinah, Dashing Doer of Daring Deeds (Muse of Alliteration)

Please analyze my name. I considered using 'Katira' instead of Dinah, but I couldn't think of an effective way to alliterate it.

Sylvia: I'm betting that you're either New Age or Neopagan, more likely Neopagan. You prefer living in the country, surrounded by animals.

Would anyone care to take a go at my name?
The ID I usually use in chatrooms @ Yahoo is neopaganwarrior.
I've also been known to use Jane Insane, and more recently Jane Inane.
Other names of mine include: ecilA neeuQ, Shadowlady and neomoses737

Okay Trigger, here goes:
You have more experience with violence than you would like and would be happy if humanity would "Give peace a chance"
I suspect that you're either confident in your self identity, full of self doubt, or oscilate between the two.

Sinning Saint:
I'm guessing that you're happily Agnostic and have no trouble laughing at yourself. You probably read a lot of nonsense, such as Alice in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass. You like to think for yourself and get resentful when people tell you how to act, think, etc...
