let me be of some minor assistance here in regards to wakan in general and wicasa wakan in particular.
Wakan in Lakota litteraly means "mystery" it can also slide into the catagory of "holy" or "spirit"
Wicasa is "man"
Wicasa Wakan litteraly means "holy man" Many would confuse a "Holy man" with "Medicine man" but they are two different things. A medicine man is a doctor, you go to one when you are sick. A holy man is conduit to spiritual power more akin to a priest. You go to him when you need guidance and for ceremony.
for those interested medicine man is "wicasa pejuta"
