Opps, another mistake.
Here is you new pitch...
Elfrida (Pitch 10)
Frankie Roberto Posted Nov 17, 2001
Sorry about all that.
So... do you go camping much IRL?
Elfrida (Pitch 10)
Elfrida Posted Nov 18, 2001
That's okay...many ta's for finding me a new pitch (and chukka-tents are so easy to move!)
I do like camping in RL but as the years advance *sigh* I find a warmer climate is better...took a tent to the last Glastonbury festival but confess to also having booked a spot in the excellent nearby youth hostel to retreat to.

I find that camping is only as good at the venue. There's nothing wrong with the Peak District, but it's nothing on Lake Titicaca in Peru!

Ooh...I've never been to Peru! *tries to think of most exotic camping spot in travels* I did like sleeping under the stars in Swaziland

I've slept in as many exotic places you can think of.
I once slept rough in Brunei once for a week. I then went to the cool theme park in Brunei, which is totally free.
Have been to South Africa, and Egypt. I once had a tent on the hill facing a tea field in Java.
What a life.

Java sounds like a good place to visit (lots of batik for sarongs)

Old Uncle Zarniwoop Posted Nov 18, 2001
Oh....I'll have to tell you now !!!
The tent was placed by the road on the hill. One day, I was making a cup of tea with leaves just picked, and two cyclers went past. One of them gave me the most strange look, as he saw somebody drinking tea at 7 o'clock in the morning, siluetted against the sunrise. I had my arms raised embracing the sun.
Anyway, after they went past, I heard one whisper to the other "...He must be British..." I still laugh now !!!!

I did once go wandering in a town in the middle of the jungle wearing only boxer's shorts, a fleece, and shoes (i.e. no socks) looking for orange juice and rum. We found both.
Elfrida (Pitch 10)
Elfrida Posted Nov 18, 2001
Lovely story! Well now you have to have the prize for the most exotic cup of morning tea...picked straight from the plant, no less And I bet those cyclists have never forgotten you
Elfrida (Pitch 10)
Elfrida Posted Nov 18, 2001
Bob...you conjure up such a vivid mental picture!
I'm glad you found your orange and rum!

*pins note to flap of chukka-tent*
"gone rambling (Nov. 19th)...back in a week...make yourself a cuppa and leave a note if you see the friendly hedgehog who was looking for some where to hibernate when I pitched my tent Elf"

I saw that hedgehog you mentioned and kicked 'im right out. He 'aint coming back any time soon.
Oh, you wanted him to stay. Hedgehog! Lovely hedgehog!?
*he wanders off, in hand, looking sheepish and shouting in a sort of pleading way*
