Personally I prefer setting people up to irritate themselves
Just finished the first draft of my final peice of chemistry coursework. Erk! Is there some law that says the amount of work you must do increases exponentially in proportion to the amount of time you spend wishing you had a life?

There's a distinct difference between those two...
If you set people up to irritate themselves, you get the same enjoyment and you can't get blamed for it! It's brilliant!

I suppose the best strategy is to say something you know for sure they'll reply what tyou want them to. Like that advert where he says "what do you put a golf ball on" and she says "tee" and he says "thanks, milk and two sugars". Or a question where people habitually give the wrong answer. Like "What do you put into a toaster" Not exactly relevant examples, but that sort of wordplay. Use impeccable and infallibe logic, and never raise your voice. I think you need to tailor it to your target also. Different people respond in different ways.

Ooh, I sort of do that already. The wordplay and impeccable, infallible logic and never raising the voice, anyway...
But I'll see what else I can do!
Thanks!

I think I'm being just a little silly...
Anyway, have fun.

It's got to be done hasn't it though?
And lots of it too...
Did you get any module results today?
My AS maths grade went up to 1 mark off an A, and everythign else is still brilliant! Thats my overly cheerfulness over with...

*sigh*
Yeah...
I did, yes. Two As, a B and a D. The B and D were both maths, and I'm re-sitting both, hopefully.
Glad you did well as well!

Good good good. I got A C D in machanics stats pure respectively first time, which works out at one mark below a B, this time, one mark below an A. there's no pleasing some exam boards!

Cool. But no, there is no pleasing them... I was two marks below an A in the B-grade one, and three below a C in the D-grade...

I reckon they move the grade boundaries up so that the optimum amount of people don't quite get the next grade up.

They can't, not in maths... the fail rate nationally is something like 30%, and it's putting so many off that people are afraid there won't be any maths undergraduates in a few years. So they're going to fiddle our results... :-s It'll be great, won't it, in a few years time we can say to future employers, "Yes, it was our year whose exam results were fiddled."... damn governement...

If its gets me into Uni, I'm all for it! I need at least a B, preferably an A. *crosses fingers*

I've probably asked and forgotten already, but where have you applied? *thinks* I mean, what offers do you have?

I applied to Bath, Bristol, Cambridge, Imperial, Leicester and Warwick, got offers from everywhere except Cambridge, and I'm probably either going to Bath (ABC) or Warwick (ABB). Warwick I think. I'm not sure yet though.
Have a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A544844 Its quite funny, but with good advice.
