*The gate switches over to an incoming wormhole again, and Jaffa troops move in, taking up positions in the gate room and control room*

Walter, what I want to do is, well, somewhat unconventional. Is the dialling system still active?

*observes over the Jaffas shoulder that the switch has already been pulled to scrub the drives*

Damn it, why does she have to stick to protocol.

[Walter] some back ups are in her office, the ones that'll get the gate working

If we use that to lock P3X-888 out, the gate won't be able to connect to that location if we dial it. But, outsiders will be able to dial us, correct?

[Walter] If we lock out 888 the Colonel won't be able to get back

Hmm, Carter did an analysis of the base when she was here. One of her conclusions was that it was perfectly possible to get out even when the base is under lockdown. I don't know how, but I'm sure the schematics will show us.

[Walter] Yes there's the way out through the ventilation shaft, she installed some ladders,

*Checks his watch*

General O'Neill should be here soon

We'll still have to check the schematics. I haven't had any use for those shafts yet, I don't know where they are. The general said reinforcements should be here soon.

[Walter] Everything you need is in the Colonel's office

Hmm, I don't see anything we can do here for the moment. Let's both head there. Maybe I can think of something along the way. Unless you have any ideas?

[Walter] Unless we use the Apollo, Daedalus or the Odyssey to get us to the Alpha site and use that as our base of operation

Can we raise Colonel Emerson on the comms?

[Walter] I'll see if I can raise Colonel Caldwell and Colonel Ellis too

Ok, I'll pop to the colonels office and see what I can find

*Walks out of the room stalking through the Jaffa, noticing again the thing that made him pause and think before. This time however he doesn't stop*

*The hologram obelisk projects an image on Montu, with his voice coming out of every speaker in the control room*



"People of the Tau'ri, I have your Colonel hostage. She will be kept well... for now. I demand a copy of your database, mission files, gate addresses, schematics of your technologies... Everything. If I do not receive the database within 48 hours, my fleet will travel to Earth and vaporise your planet, while your Colonel watches. She will then be killed. Unfortunate... But one of those things. I strongly suggest you do as I ask, or billions of people will die.

I have also become aware of a Tau'ri base in the Pegasus galaxy. A number of Ha'tak vessels are being retrofitted with intergalactic hyperdrive as we speak, so don't think you will escape to there.

*The Jaffa stand to attention, and begin working at the computers, using odd looking devices on the screens and computer units. The screens light up, displaying the Gate dialling systems. Other data begins to be reconstituted, although most of it is irretrievable. The data begins to be sent through the gate in a databurst*

*Picks up the open line to O'Neill again*

Sir, We've just be...

[O'Neill] I heard, We already have the Daedalus in orbit over SGC. The Asgard are past their ETA so I don't know what's going on there. Do what you can, bide you time.

*Runs to the colonels office and grabs the disks and keys out of the drawer, then safely stows them out of sight*

Walter, where are the SGC schematics?

*A Jaffa grabs Aries and stuns him with a blow to the head, and throws him to the ground*
