A brief update. After days of not getting any better, I went to a hospital in Heliopolis today. They took xrays and an ultrasound of my abdomen. The good news, no broken ribs or obviously injured internal organs. The bad news, a bruise that has me nearly useless in pain. I have some medicine as prescribed, a bit worrisome for me as I have no idea what they are. The internet tells me that one of them is a gel that is made from synthesized leach saliva... Hmm.

And I thought the food was bad!

Hi everyone, I fell ill on Tuesday, and now I'm on antibiotics that make me feel queasy... and lacking in ambition...

Instead of the 'I'm feeling lucky' google button, I had a 'I feel stellar' button, so of *course I had to push it. Nice result

IIEM, a Mogs special, with a "splash" please. And Matina, those Mbougatses look particularly yummy today.

I don't have time to feel like wet rag, and that's probably why. My daughter graduates high school on monday, and there is a couple of things not yet done. These stupid migraines are stupid. And yet another spray medication was required today. Good thing it helps, but it would be even better if I didn't need it.

Sitting at the hotel bar listening to lounge music sipping espresso and waiting for lunch. All the while trying not to grimace in pain with every breath. Anyone have suggestions for dealing with massive bruising?

Arnica for bruising, Marv, but yours sounds pretty serious.

A bit out of my experience field, Marv - or rather, the time I had bruised ribs, I failed absolutely to find a suitable remedy My sympathies, though - also to Milla's head and Lil's meh.

Sat in a lounge in Schiphol with a post-conference - my newly minted SK*G (SAS Star Alliance Gold) status got me in here, but prior to that was not deemed sufficient to get me on an earlier plane. Probably one of the few areas of service where I feel SAS does not really shine so much.

Good week - had the first conference dinner ever where I have cried from laughing. We had a terrific table yesterday - and we had an idea that somebody behind the curtains may have said "try to keep the wine away from that table over the..."

Do we have a bot capable of kicking that comma out of here and reinstating the 'm' that was surely there?

Oh. I have a third cast now. The healing wasn't quite far along enough for them to be willing to leave me free. Better than causing more problems by stopping too early ...

I can sympathise with the antibiotics Lil. I have had 2 courses over the last couple of months, 200mg a day, not too bad up until the third pill of the day, then yuk.

Yuk indeed. The fevers continue. Analysis has yielded the presence of gram negative rods, which I have googled, but the answers are either blandly general or medically dense.

But at least I don't have migraines or badly bruised ribs! Poor Milla and Marv.

Serendipity: I happened to tune into the Colbert Report earlier this evening. His guests were John Mellencamp, Stephen King and T-Bone Burnett! They have collaborated on some sort of multimedia project about zombie brothers, the name of which has been driven out of head by fever. But the list of participating singers is stellar.
