I'm stuck under a sleeping baby and the tv remote is out of reach so I'm stuck watchig tv for preschoolers . So am hiding on my phone and buying things, more washable nappies mostly.

As for a party, this year the Midsommer Night's Eve happens to coincide with the Summer Solstice on one and the same day. What better time to throw a party?

*throws pastey at mysterious stranger*

That should be pastry, I suspect Pastey will complain when he hears I've been throwing him around

*Chloe emerges from linen closet, cleans the wall and area where the pastry was flung, glares at NBB and returns to the linen closet*

*door slams*

What about the spot where I threw Pastey, does that need cleaning too?

Some weeks ago, I complained to the head nurse about the demented elderly Hispanic lady across the hall who kept coming into our room and "shopping", as the staff like to call it. DON's response was to put up a length of fabric across the doorway with a stop sign emblazoned in the middle, held up by velcro at both ends.

Staff hate it, of course, because it's a time-consuming extra step to entering and exiting the room. Also, it has suffered wear and tear, and has become more difficult to keep attached at both ends. Furthermore, the elderly Hispanic lady has learned how to duck under it as well as how to pull it off.

Tonight she got herself back into her wheelchair well after hours and came across the hall to my door, where she detached the sign at both ends, folded it neatly, came into the room, deposited the bundle on my room mate's bedside table, then turned and rolled out again.

The aide who eventually responded to my call light listened to my account of events and then made the very grave mistake of laughing.

That's just horrible! With the little privacy that exists, this sort of intrusion is really nasty. How are you supposed to relax when anyone not just can, but *does* walk into your room at any time of the night or day

*The maskéd stranger deftly avoids the thrown pastey only to trip over his own cape.*

I've gone and written another entry for the Guide, and stuck it in Peer Review. It's a recipe one, not something I normally write but bizarrely I couldn't find a recipe on the interwebs so had to develop it myself. It's for Hop Ice Cream and is a lot nicer than it sounds

Pastey, linky? I don't know whether I like the sound of hop ice cream or not.
